All in IMHO:
-Potter books are way more engaging than the movies.
-The best Potter movie was Chamber of Secrets(despite being the weakest book), 5th movie was the weakest, (despite being the best book). I liked the 3rd movie quite a lot though.
-I found the movies to be too dark and less fun as they progressed(although I loved Jim Broadbent's take on Slughorn in movie 6).
-The last 200 pages of 7th book were very satisfying, although I found the first 500 pages a letdown. I also didn't like that major characters got killed in passing.
-The epilogue should have never happened.

Let's not forget that although Rowling creating an amazing fantasy universe, she's not a particularly good writer. Tolkien, Lewis, and Dahl, she's not.
The most legitimate rumors agree that she wrote the first one solo and the writing quality was so bad, editors had to exert strong influence over future books.Isn't the rumor that she didn't actually write the books solo?

However, the universe and storylines are all hers.
She's just like George Lucas, but with MUCH higher quality standards!
But she did steal many of George's ideas for her books. Harry, Hermoine, Ron/Luke, Leia, and Han. Luke and Harry being the main protagonists, while the others end up together romantically. I am pretty sure Harry and Hermoine were set up to be brother and sister, but she never pulled the trigger.
Hagrid=Chewie
Dumbledore=Yoda/Obi-wan
Magic=The Force
Only Luke and Harry can bring balance to the force....
Okay, I'm calling shenanigans, as even if she DID riff on Star Wars, she wouldn't have been the first or only. Heck, the Final Fantasy games have been stealing stuff from Star Wars for years. And besides, I'd say there's more of an X-Men vibe to Hogwart's than Star Wars.

Yes but when Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down the pirates don't eat the tourists.Like any and every park ever.

Um, no.I just always felt that Harry/Hermoine was an obvious spin on Luke/Leia.
Harry and Hermoine were the same age. Hermoine was raised by Muggle parents, but was the cleverest, most skilled wizard in Hogwarts(just like Lily Potter). Voldemort reading the prophecy went to kill Harry, but never knew Hermoine existed. Dumbledore took her to Muggle parents to protect her until she was ready to come to Hogwarts.
Harry and Hermoine were always like brother and sister, and I felt that was always JK's intention.
Modern day characters were not created by George Lucas. Look up Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Also, your last comment is entirely incorrect. The prophecy named two people: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom.
I see no evidence pointing to the idea that Hermione and Harry would have been siblings.Never said Hermoine would have been part of the prophecy since the prophecy was written about a male. Just that she would have been his sister.

Especially when Rowling said her one big regret in the series is never pairing the two romantically.

I always thought it was pretty clear he was not exactly straight. Readers even glimpsed into Snape's love life but never Dumbledore. But maybe that's just me...She also said Dumbledore is gay. Rowling likes attention, and her post Potter work is mostly ignored, so she likes to make grand statements every so often.

Actually, The Casual Vacancy and The Silkworm have been well-received commercially and critically. But, why quibble over the small details?She also said Dumbledore is gay. Rowling likes attention, and her post Potter work is mostly ignored, so she likes to make grand statements every so often.
