Does anyone know when Disney releases the new planning DVD each year? I got last year's (which, of course, is loaded with "Year of a Million Dreams" stuff), and used it to get excited about my trip last year. I want to get a new one whenever they release it, to get pumped for my 2009 trip - any ideas when they usually release a new one?

I'd probably say around Nov/Dec. After they start getting rid of many of the YOMAD signs and such. Which then means that another Top 7 Must sees will be done as well to incorporate the newer shows & attractions to the show..:D

Yea it will happen most likely the YOAMD 2.0. Also I got this years and last years and they are both the same thing.

The YOAMD's DVD was very cheesey.

"Do you know Steven?

"Yeh he's my friend"

"He's my friend to."

I, too, was wanting to order a new DVD, but I figure they probably don't have the new ones out yet. Of course, last year was disappointing, as they decided to continue YOMD and make only slight modifications to the existing year's DVD where needed.

I just wish we could have a definite date, or at least a month when the new one will be out.

We joke about that line every time too!

We're thinking...

"Hey, why's that guy getting so friendly with that little boy?!..." :drevil:

Sorry - gotta get my mind right...back to the Magic!

Yeah...we LOVE that part, too. My family generally yells at the screen.

"Do you know Steven"
"Yeah he's my friend"

"Yeah well that SOB owes me some money. You tell Steven I'm lookin' for him OK...you got it??...cause if I can't get it from Steven I'm taking it from you!!!"

or "Ohhhhh...you know Steven...well then, you know about his little urination fascination...I wouldn't sit in that seat if I were you" :lookaroun

ahhh fun and games with Cheesy Steven :lol::lol:

Some people have remarked they've seen video crews on property, hopefully a new planning DVD is in the works? We're making a Feb. 09 trip and I'd like an updated version. We have the Year of a Million Dreams version from 2007 (we went in July, 2007).

I'd like to see a new video before we go.

I think the YOAMD DVDs were slick and very lavishly produced, but they were also too far removed from the real experience of going to the parks. I enjoy seeing hosts walking around the parks (a la Erin, Dave, Luke and Stacy) vs. random strangers in the clouds flying about as if in some drug-induced hallucination!

I hope that the next DVD keeps the action grounded and real.

I made reservations a couple of weeks ago, and I guess as part of the reservation process, they send you a planning video. It came in the mail today (I had not ordered one yet thinking it would still be YOMD) and I do believe it is still YOMD. I have not watched any of it yet, but that is the cover and the booklet that comes will it has 2008 all throughout it. No mention of 2009.
I guess I will wait till the end of the year or early next year to see if there is a new one that comes out. Let's Hope:)

agreed, the year of a million dreams one bored me. The HCOE one makes me want to go every time I watch it.
