I've heard various rumors from people in the company/random message boards/twitter posts that Josh has SOME redeeming qualities and he's talked both Bob's off the ledge on some truly insane and destructive parks related decisions. I think he would definitely a step up from Chapek, but I don't see anyway that the CEO drama resolves in a truly positive way for the parks (until I complete my hostile takeover of the company obviously).

The parks head is not…nor ever will be…the right person for that job. Details at 11

IMHO, if it's between D'Amaro and Walden exclusively, I think D'Amaro has earned it more. From a success point of view, his side has been showing signs of long term growth, especially with a new park coming. Meanwhile, the film business... let's just say it's struggling.

The best possible outcome would be a trio of people similar to the late 1980's. The second best would be an outsider. If Disney is going to pick between these two, I think the choice is clear from an economics perspective.

They 101% need outsiders. Period

I agree, maybe I wasn't clear. The trio in the 1980's were all outsiders. I'd love a trio like that, but if not, an outsider. My fear though is Disney is too big for one person to oversee everything and get it right. Iger would love to say he does it today, but nope. Thunderbolts* box office says otherwise. It's too big, even for him.

I think there is more proof of Josh disagreeing with what Bob C did with the parks than agreeing with it.

Kareem , Chapek right hand man was fired the day after Chapek got fired. Doubt he got a $23M severance like Chapek. Josh handpicked by Chapek must have made peace with Iger for Josh to still be employed.
Chapek installed Kareem Daniel over the streaming/media side of things, and that rankled the traditional studio heads. Chapek was over parks when he made Josh CCO of WDW, President of DL, and chose Josh as his replacement over “Disney Experiences” (Parks).

Again, back to the question - what mistakes over the last 5-10 years (when he was quite high over this division in various capacities) have been fixed?

I don't disagree, I think Josh sucks too. He's just not as bad as Walden would be or how Chapek was. It's sad that the choices appear to be this grim but he's the lesser of all the evils as far as I can tell. They need a true creative as CEO and that will likely never happen ever again.

A once great innovative company and now we have to settle for the lesser of two evils ---how sad
