I didn't get to ride RnRC at Paris (I was 4mths pregnant) but my husband claims it wasn't as good as MGM - the theming was different.
The theming is different, and the load theme isn`t as good as MGMs (once you realise its a parking garage) but the attraction itself if far superior; gone are the UV lit flat props. Instead the building is crammed full of lighting (strobes, parcans, LED, Vari*lite - you name it) though is still dark. Each car (with each different soundtrack) has it`s own lightshow, in sync to the audio. 5 cars, 5 different rides. That`s rider repeatability! The track, of course, is identical. The preshow, however, in new. Same set, same background, Aerosmith - but it`s like a second chapter if you`ve seen MGMs.

Also the launch is set so it runs 5mph faster than WDW's. Personally I prefer the French RNRC.

yeh, the launch is alot better at dlrp then mgm wdw - i wasnt a fan of the orlando version - the paris one just seemed alot faster, smoother...

one question is the launch different track layout wise?

Not to my knowledge, I believe the track is 100% the same, but with the faster launch, the lighting rigs and smoke machines, DLP's version feels very different.

Don't miss Space Mountain or Indiana Jones at DLP... The Paris SM is completely different from the Stateside versions... themed as Jules Verne's moon voyage, cannon launch and all, with some very cool surprises inside.

Indy in France is a roller coaster; not a truck like California's (or DAK Dinosaur). Honestly, I like the Cali Indy better than France's version, but it's still a credit (loop, backwards ride).

DLP has a completely different vibe than the US parks; I thought it was a little more upscale, with some tremendous landscaping and architecture. I went over Presidents' Day weekend when I was at Kaiserslautern, Germany a few years back - really cold and lots of sleet. It was worth it, though... and I had the park pretty much to myself.

Don't miss Paris, though. The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, Champs Elysee, Place de Corcorde and the Lourve are absolute must sees, no matter how much of a Disneyphile. I bought an all-day pass for the Metro for a little over 3 dollars with a free guidemap from the train station and a Fodor's guide I checked out from the library the day before I left and had a GREAT time for almost no $. Good luck and have fun!

This is Morgan's husband here.....

I understand what everyone is saying that DLP's RnRC has the same track and it probably is a bit faster on take off (although I'm not convinced) but the ride as a whole is poor in comparison to the American version. In my opinion, the ride lascked atmosphere, the extra strobes and smoke machines did nothing for the overall feel of the ride and I came off feeling a little short changed, but I also came out of Disney Studios in Paris feeling a little short changed. The park itself felt like it had been 'knocked up' quickly and RnRC, although still the best ride there, reflected its surroundings.

This is just my husbands opinion and I apologise for him going off on a tangent. he does agree that the parks are both worth visiting when in Paris, especially Disneyland, which we both felt was an outstanding day out.

I will also weigh in to say that the DLPR RocknRoller Coaster is better than MGM's -- the lighting works much better with the lights and struts, than the highway themeing at MGM.

That being said - the entire studios WAS put up quickly and sort of was an afterhtought. That is why they are adding millions of dollars of new attractions there over the coming yeat - including their new Tower of Terror (which will be themed differently there) and the indoor Nemo roller coaster (think AK's premievel whirl only indoors) as well as an entirely new area of the studios.

With the passe partoute, by the way, you can "parkhop" to both parks and do all the major attractions in one day, not making a multi-day trip necessary if you are staying in Paris itself. I always stay in paris, and make a daytrip to DLPR. If bored, I might make a second trip a week later.

I'll be going in May and was curious if the cast members are bilingual (French and English) or if they only speak French? Actually are the shows , rides etc all in French as well?

My French is very lacking...

Also, I looked on DLP website and I didnt see a 1 day park hopper, only a 2 day, can you buy a 1 day park hopper at the park?

Thanks in advance!

a CM told me that all park tickets are hoppers .. you can't buy normal tickets .. or better .. you cant buy hoppers cause normal tickets are valid for both parks

I tried it out .. and it worked .. we went to the resort early in the morning I filmed the attractions I couldn't the day before and then we went to the studios .. no problem .. worked like a charm

Being a huge Disney fan, how many days do you all think i would need to see everything. I will be in Paris for 1 week and possibley even 2. the dates are unknown as we are still waiting for my other halfs company to inform him of what is going on. I am not an artsy eprson so i most likely will not visit the Louvre. i know a lot of you said to go see it but that is just not me. if i find that i have an afternoon with nothing to do then maybe i will go see it. i do not see myself planning a specific time to go there. i may be playing tourist alone most of the time as my other half will be working. The VP of his company and his wife may be going but like i said it is still an unknown.

One thing i really want to do is spend an afternoon at the Eiffel tower just relaxing and playing tourist. :animwink:
