I meant to post this the other day but I forgot in my Disney Dooney & Bourke contest excitement.

I was at the outlet mall on Wednesday and I stopped in at the Disney Character outlet. First, I scored the Figment and Dreamfinder shirt for $9.99 which was awesome (original price $24.99)

...and then when I checked out, I wound up also buying a pin separately so she put it in a small bag.

Imagine my surprise when it's an old school bag!

It still has the Earful Tower on it!

The text says, "Please help the environment by reusing this sturdy bag." And copyright Disney on the other side. Same image on both sides.

How funny is that??

Thought you guys might get a kick out of it. The shirt went in one of the current blue cloud bags so it was kinda surreal when she pulled out the old yellow one for my pin.

We have a Disney Store Outlet in our outlet mall ( not a Character outlet) and they are using the same bags as the Disney Stores. Nice shirt, our store has all kids stuff and toys.

I have one or two of those old bags somewhere. Love the shirt. And congrats on the contest.
Thanks! :D The shirt find was a nice extra on top of my contest win.

That wouldnt be the Ellenton Outlet would it?
Nope, the one in Orlando on International Drive. I was there to check out the Fossil outlet and decided to peek into the Disney outlet while I was there. I actually haven't been to the Ellenton ones in a long time.

Usually, the Outlet uses the same bags as in-park and the larger bags were the same blue cloud/balloon ones but the little bag was one of these oldies.

I have the exact same Dreamfinder shirt that I bought at Epcot some years ago, it's one of my favorites. The retro bag is AMAZING, though!

I know the Dreamfinder shirt came out at least a year or so ago but I missed it.

I just couldn't believe the old stock of bags though! It's total blast-from-the-past there!!

Do they have alot of older merchandise in those Disney Outlets. We stopped at one in Belz Outlet Mall during our 2003 trip but I forget what they had there lol.

Most of it is park items from within the past year or so. They also had some Cruise exclusive clothing and knick-knacks as well. Most of it is relatively current though. The bag is way outside the realm of age which is why it was so noteworthy!

Something else I forgot to ask is do they sell some of the older Official Albums and park souvenir booklets? They don't make the WDW pictorial booklets anymore, they're all for each park now. I've paged through several of them on our recent trip and wasn't impressed at all. They talk more about the park and have less photographs in them....mainly just an enlarged rack brochure you would pick up at a welcome center somwhere (and even they have more photographs at times). I also heard that the park DVD's aren't that great either, not any different than the free vacation-planning DVD's you get in the mail.

I really wish they bring back those monorail accessories again. I'm happy for the stuff I either did manage to get at WDW or on ebay. Bought the Contemporary model on our recent trip and have some more figures to add for Christmas this year.

By the way, I also remember those bags. They used them when we were there back in January of 1999, I have some of them as well. It was definitely before the hat was built.

I don't really recall seeing any books like that. Mainly clothes, some kids toys, a few pins, and some seasonal merchandise leftover from whatever holiday(s) have past. It's hit-and-miss if there are things you want to buy and/or sizes you need.

I know there's definitely no Monorail accessories. We'd have been all over those. I too hate that I kinda got late to the game with that one. We've got the Contemporary and that's it. All the other cool things like the signs and such are just way too expensive on ebay. :(
