my boat captain on the boat from boardwalk to mgm informed me that disney owns the travel channel. i suppose thats why there is always so much about disney on it... and why beach club was voted #3 on the best USA hotels. although BC doesnt need any help being wonderful its one of my favs!!:sohappy:

I love that they have so many Disney programs, but the Travel Channel is actually owned by Enterprises.

disney owns several television networks, including History Channel, Lifetime, and many many more... you'd really be suprised!

Not exactly. The Travel Channel is owned by Discovery Communications, LLC which consists of the Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, TLC, and a host of other similar channels. It's definitely independent of Disney, and as far as I know, there is no Disney tie whatsoever (besides that they air specials from Disney sometimes on the Travel Channel...but then again, WDW is a popular travel destination, so it makes sense!).

I wish the Travel Channel would have newer and recently updated info. on all the Disney Parks. It would be extremely nice if they did several updated series of the Disney Resorts. Or how about a new Food Channel WDW special or even an updated version of the Holidays at WDW.

I was looking at Matt Boom's Christmas Album and one of the pictures he pointed out Samantha Brown in the corner. (Lovely pictures by the way) This means very soon hopefully they will have a special on the new christmas lights at the magic kingdom.

I completely agree with you DisneyShe. I've seen it so many times. I have all of the disney specials from the travel channel on DVD and my DVR and I watch them all the time. I'm going in 11 days and all weekend I was watching the specials so excited :ROFLOL:

Thank you for sharing this! I know what I will be doing on December 11. I love how Samantha Brown brings so much enthusiasm and energy to her shows. "Disney Holiday Magic with Samantha Brown" is also 60 minutes long! This will be a great show. :xmas:

Ooh - I can watch the episode on Friday the 14th, which is the day before we leave!! What a great way to start out our Christmas trip!!
