Disney needs to step up its Story telling game… it’s weak right now

Maybe you don't.... But it shows that there are thing way worse than anything Disney does.
Last Jedi killed Star Wars momentum. Spin it anyway you want but that was worse than the Superman 4 trash. Rain Johnson is a solid filmmaker but Last Jedi killed the Skywalker saga. Lucasfilm has been trying to dig themselves out of that hole ever since.
No spin-offs with sequel cast, no movies on the horizon and it feels like no direction with Disney+ Star Wars. I did like Andor, cool prequel to Rouge one.

Agree. I have no idea what has happened but across the board from Pixar, lucasfilm, disney animation the overall product has been very mid post 2020. Example is Superman 3 level quality compared to Superman 1&2.

Disney can’t keep throwing out average films like the ones I listed. Too
Much talent on the payroll.

Encanto was awesome. Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, elemental, guardians need to be exceptional.

Mandalorian season 3 is just middle of the road. This is a Disney plus tent pole. What the heck has happened?

Mando 3 has been a great season but everyone has opinions to what they like and what they don’t.

Again what you are saying is called an opinion and not a fact. I can attach a link to what that means but I’m sure you can look it up.
It’s not an opinion, audience is leaving the show. Why?

Well I assumed you knew what an opinion was but clearly I was wrong. So here you go:

Why is the audience leaving the show? What is it that is turning people away?
“The show's total minutes viewed dropped by 200 million, representing a decline of about 20%. This trend concerns Disney, as the Mandalorian is their flagship show that helped launch Disney Plus.”

You are a huge fan… why is this show losing traction?

I don't think there's one answer but perhaps a combo of many reasons

First I can think of is Season 3 is 'off-season' from previous releases. Not only has there been a 2+ year gap between Season 2 and 3, but the previous seasons were released in the fall/winter. Unless you're following closely, casual fans may not even know it has been released.

Similar the post-Endgame films being hard to top Thanos, it's hard to top Luke Skywalker showing up in the finale. Coupled with the mixed reception for Book of Boba Fett and Grogu/Luke's story being resolved in that show, the causal viewer perhaps isn't as interested to go back to the contained episodic serials of Season 1.

And then you get to the content of Season 3 itself. Everyone can like what they want but unfortunately I find this season to be extremely boring. I say unfortunately because as a fan of the characters the last thing I want is to not like it. But with 3/4 of the season complete, it's like we're just doing side-quests after the main show has finished.

Again, there are plenty of writers of new stuff. The execs don't write the material, they reject or greenlight it like any other studio. They just don't want to greenlight anything that will automatically or most likely fail. That pretty much encompasses any new material unfortunately. They NEED more new material on D+ is what they need. The D+ new material is way too kiddie as if the entire streaming service is Disney Channel.

So it's not laziness at all. It's a reasonable fear of failure and loss of hundreds of millions on movies that are almost certain to bomb because the studio will not foot the bill for things the public almost certainly will reject.

I agree with your points. I think you nailed it

Agree Disney+ for the most part is too kiddie. Great comparison to Disney Channel. That needs to turn around fast.

Hopefully Indiana Jones, Guardians, Haunted Mansion are all fan favorites on the big screen and elemental soars at box office.

Eternals was mediocre but it was more boring than bad. Its at least a competently made film but wasn’t interesting. It’s easily the worse MCU film but I think it’s better than a bunch of DCEU films and dreck like Fant4stic.
I disagree. I think Eternals is better than The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, the First Avenger, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 3, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Spider-man Far From Home, Avengers Age of Ultron, Avengers Endgame, Thor: Love and Thunder, and all three Ant-man films.

i thought the last few animated outings haven’t been that good either. watchable, but not memorable. mandalorian is still good but not as good as seasons 1-2. i’ll admit i felt the storytelling seems to have weakened a bit. i do have better expectations for what they have coming out this year. i hope they can turn it around.

I’m worried but Indy looks great. Crosses fingers. Haunted Mansion looks promising. Guardians should be good.

I’ve lost faith recently with Disney animation. See what Elemental brings to the table.

The trailer for Haunted Mansion does look good. I feel like Elemental is just a reworking of Inside Out. Seems like Disney animation lost it's luster when John Lassiter was forced it. And I can totally agree with why they forced him out. Luck was pretty good, a movie that he did. I think the harassment that he did was awful though.
