Sorry, I'm at workand I was trying to get this post out quickly. To make a long story short it doesn't work. Nothing. Nada. and it's too late to ask for a refund. It's way over 60 days. I bought it as a gift for my son and have never been able to get it to work. I had some guys at work look at it and they can't open it either. It is the Pirates one. My girls have one too and those are fine. I've tried to talk to customer service and support tech and they both said "sorry about your luck, but you're stuck with it." So I just wasted $50 on a piece of nothing.

Hindsight is 20/20 so you already know it should have been returned immediately when you saw it didn't work.
Its basically just a flash drive so I doubt there is too much you can do with it and opening it it will not really help much.
Have you tried reformatting it and reloading the software?
No, I don't know how to do that. I am not computer savvy.:brick:
this sort of stuff happens on my ipod shuffle all the time. and sometimes my regular ipod. IF you reformat the drive it should fix the problem. Or it perhaps is frozen up. take a look at the instruction manual for troubleshooting. if that doesn't help.
but I did some internet research and apparently These things aren't very well made and quality control isn't very good on them.
My both of my daughters have ipods and we have never had this happen. The thing I don't like about the mixstick is the way you have load the music. The Ipod is much easier.
I believe the Disney Mix Stick is a USB 2.0 device. If you have an older computer with USB 1.0, it may not recognize the stick automatically, and I've never found any drivers to download to get it recognized manually.
If you do have an older computer, try finding a newer one and plugging it into the USB to see if the computer can find it.
Good point, but he has 2 others that work just fine.
But the OP never explicitly said they used all 3 with the same computer. I was just covering another possibility. I had a problem with my brother with this exact situation - he was swearing about a flash drive that wasn't working, when another he had was - turns out he used the one that was "working" with a newer laptop, but was trying the other with an older desktop....
Memorex has a special support website for their Disney electronics: http://disney.memorexelectronics.com/html/disney.php
Although Disney takes them back only within 60 days, the warranty from Memorex is 90 days - any chance it's still within that timeframe?
My daughter's ipod freezes all the time, it seems to happen most when she is clicking thru songs to find the one she wants. The Dell DJ used to freeze all the time too. We have Zen mp3 players and they rarely freeze... can happen to any electronic device.
