Disney merchandise thiefs

This has also happened to me...at the shop at Carribean Beach, my hands were full, so I ended up putting one of those large pre-packaged pin collections in the cargo pocket on my shorts. It was sticking out of the pocket, obviously not concealed, and I had every intent to purchase it, but I forgot about it and made it all the way out to the bus stop to head to the Magic Kingdom and I sat down to wait on the bus and the bag nearly fell out of the pocket. I quickly rushed back in to pay.

No one ever said a word to me, so I guess they didn't notice, but I felt very embarrassed about it!
Even if its not concealed and it seems like you're not trying to steal it, putting anything in pockets before paying isn't a good idea. I used to work retail, and I get that people forget its there and they're really not trying to steal, but when the employee notices it its just awkward for everyone involved. When I noticed something in a customer's pocket (usually a pack of pens in a shirt pocket or something like that, I worked at Staples), I would say something like, "Are you also getting the pens too?" and usually the customer would either be like "Oh yes, sorry, forgot they were there." or "No, forgot to put them back..." or "What are you accusing me of stealing? I was going to pay for them!" either way its just weird for the person working. I don't know how WDW is, but at Staples that wasn't something that warranted getting a manager so we had to handle it on our own if this happened at the register. And most of the time it is just someone forgetting they put it there, but unfortunately we used to catch things like that way too often so we were always on the look out for it. At least if its in your hand, thats way more noticeable and someone working at the store should notice you walking out and say something, the pocket issue just gets really weird really quick.
