Masks are coming. It sucks but that’s the reality we are in. I have accepted that for my anniversary trip in two weeks my wife and I will be wearing them indoors. We will be spending less (if any) park time and more time hanging out at the Flo pool and bar.

I’ll be cancelling future trips though.

Hopefully this wave passes is quick.

Orange County Mayor expects Walt Disney world to follow New CDC guidelines.

Just like he expects everyone else in Orange County to blindly follow along. Doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen, doesn’t mean that it not going to happen.

If Disney goes backwards on facemask policy it’s PR safety optics that will reduce park guests and increase vacation cancellations.

I would not want to be the ones making this decision because it’s not good either way they go which is why I think it would be best to remain as is and let folks make their own determination on how best to stay safe

100%! There will be far more people upset than those who are happy. Let’s not forget, Disney is a business.
I think you both overestimate the number of people who will cancel trips because of a tiny piece of fabric.

Masks indoors, otherwise no additional protocols (e.g. distancing).

I mean, I live 30 miles away with an AP and if they revert to indoor masks, I’m not going until they drop them again. Also, I’ve mentioned this several times but I’m fully vaxed and wore my mask when and where I was supposed to. But I’m not going backward.

Disney will “recommend” masks but won’t require them.
I previously suggested this could be Disney’s response, but not under the current circumstances where local officials are declaring an emergency. After the Delta surge, I think they may very well adopt that solution though. My prediction is it won’t be too long after this current surge passes.
