Masks are required while on all guest transportation regardless of vaccination status, but are optional for fully vaccinated cast members on cast transportation.

So what was their guiding metrics? Couldn’t have been the CDC because all of Florida is still in the high category. In fact #’s are still higher now than when they brought the masks back the end of summer.

Their metrics are they are allowed to do it now. That's really it.

They wanted both Land and World to be at the same time and now that can happen so they did it. That's their metrics.

They saw the different states starting to do it, then Vegas and the casinos, and that was it they started the ball rolling.

Interestingly, here in CT, the statewide school mask mandate is confirmed to end, so school districts decide. Those that have already decided to go with masks being optional will still require masks on buses due to the federal mandate. It seems the federal mandate is poorly written and/or enforced but meant to include all buses. Many are just ignoring the intent of that policy. Like Universal.

Public sentiment shifting… this move, and the removal of state mandates, are contradictory to everything the CDC and government officials have been saying for two years… the only difference is public sentiment shifting against masks.

One of the biggest myths in disneydom these days is that they’re losing gobs on masks. I bet not…
Not really. If it were primarily money, they would have mimicked Universal all along. They didn’t. They knew it was costing them money but chose to be extra cautious longer than most other amusement enterprises. I applaud them for that.
Agreed. It’s PR more than anything.
How long until you need a credit check before entering the park? ;)
When you go to book you’re “once in a lifetime magical dream vacation” on wdw.com…

a $1,500 limit ain’t gonna scratch it.

At least soon they'll be on the right side of the CDC again...

Well, regardless of what happens next with people from all over the planet who may or may not be vaccinated running all over Walt Disney World without masks on, I guess we'll soon find out what a Small World it really is.
That is an interesting question, eh? I doubt it will change policy by I’m interested on the open resumption of travel into the US in general?

disney does have a very important safety plan to combat this.

I would wager that people from all over the planet will Enjoy their vacations with the ability to Still wear a mask if they choose.

I have friends visiting there right now and her and her daughter are wearing masks even outdoors. That's their choice and there's nothing wrong with it. They're having a wonderful trip right alongside people who are not wearing masks.

And for anybody wondering why they would mask outdoors, her husband is on the film crew for black panther 2 and they get tested frequently so they Are being extra cautious while traveling.
