Well my neck of the woods announced they would be removing the mask mandate “soon” whatever that means.

I live in a very blue state for those keeping score at home.

I was actually a bit surprised by they would even mention this all things considered.

Makes me think the messaging is about to be changed.

Rows definitely seat 3. Not sure if they are actively filling the 3rd spot for parties of 2.

Not literally what can fit. Though 3 adults looks uncomfortable. When was the last time you rode with a stranger in a ride like that in the same row? Plus truly I was asking another solo traveler. I've been on the ride and see what they do in loading.

Parties of 4 are 2 and 2. Not 3 and 1 with a stranger. Every time I rode I was in the front with a party of 2 or 3 behind me. So was the solo party I saw one ride.

I would be irritated if they sat a stranger right next to me on that as well and it has nothing to do with covid.

The good news is that in some places cases are falling rapidly - Chicago is reporting a 48% decline in cases over last week, and similar declines in hospitalizations and deaths. Officials are talking about removing mask and proof of vaccination requirements sooner than expected. I know Florida is not doing as well, but numbers are improving there also. Maybe masks at WDW will also be dropped sooner than expected.
Cases are clearly on a decline, but it's still worth remembering that over 16k in Florida were confirmed yesterday. Back in early November, when masks were still a thing, we were in the 1-2k/day range.

Explain how you can share a row with Remy? Literally each row holds 2 or 3 people and I am seriously curious how that happened after riding it a few times. I have never in my solo trips been placed with a single stranger in a ride like Pooh or Peter Pan which is similar in size. They didn't even make me share for Pirates or IASW.

If you are saying they were in a separate row, that's different.
i was placed with a party of 2...the three of us sat in a row...6 in a mouse

All 4 times? I'm seriously flabbergasted. That never happened and honestly I'd refuse since that's tiiiiiight and Remy is not worth a ride with people I do not know. Seriously shocked as I never saw that before. They were only doing 2 and 2 for parties of 4 or 3 and 2 for 5 (did not see 6). One ride it was me in front and 2 behind. The other was 3 behind and me in front.

When I solo ROTR I've been on more than one occasion added to a row with 3, so we fill the entire 4 person row. It's just as tight as Rat, just one extra seat. It's possible that you just had a larger group either before or behind you so they didn't bother trying to search for a group of 2 to fill.

For whatever reason, some attractions never really mix groups. I assume because their capacity is higher and they don't worry about a few open spots going through.

I never bothered with Rise solo as that's not worth my wait. I only did Remy 2x because of BG. Though we were 4 and didn't feel it was super tight fitting. Only did that in June and no mixing there.

I'll say most of the groups were 2s or 3s around me. Again I was seated with a group of 2 with only 3 of us total. Even the pics Disney shows of Remy has only 5 in a mouse so I didn't guess they'd shoehorn in 3 adults each row. Granted this was BG time for me to ride so maybe that changes things buy tbh I'll skip it if they try to put someone with me I don't know. Just not something I tolerate emotionally. I'm not a Karen but there are things I have to avoid due to PTSD. Glad Remy is not one I like much. Will skip likely until we're a group of 3 again. Won't bother if solo or 2 only.

I think airplanes and hospitals will be around the last to drop them. Disney will probably drop them sooner. They dropped the requirement last summer for about 6 weeks for the vaccinated while the airline rule continued through that time.
Agreed. At this point I honestly have no clue when Disney will drop masks. Not too early though as to not bring back a policy too quickly. November made me guess on that.

Remy was designed to have a single rider line but they haven’t used it since it opened as far as I know.
Interesting. I have only seen the LL/DAS and regular queues being used. Wonder where the third would be wound through. Keep in mind I love SRL for many places that have better defined seats. Like EE and TT. A little bump is not enough separation for me is all.

Masking will drop as soon as it’s no longer required in most of the country.

Going to Disney now when you have to mask in your day to day life is no big deal for most people.

Once people no longer need to mask at home they are not going to be receptive to masking especially on a high cost vacation.

Disneys hand will be forced we will just have to wait to see what happens it New York, Chicago, LA etc.

Only 10 states still have mask mandates but with county and city mandates I’m not sure if most of the country still requires them or not.

I live in one the the mandated states and we haven’t heard a peep on the mandates ending, or leadership giving up their emergency powers they’ve held for nearly 2 years, in over 6 months. I suspect Disney will get rid of masks long before we will.

Mask usage is near 100% in the suburbs and off strip stores but I chuckle every time I go to work (strip casino) because at least half of the guests have a drink, food, or cigarette in their hand so they are excluded from the mandate, the end result is very few tourists are actually wearing masks indoors.

We have many here for cities without state wide. My hair salon flat out sends masks required for example because of the city it is in (it is enforced). Schools require at all times too still here. For me personally I have gone to Disney when at home they were required so no big deal for me.

As soon as I got home last summer ours were gone so it felt normal. Of course they came back. I expect to be dropped soon. Our school mandates for all activities through the 8th. They may remain in school hours but not after. I will not guess on federal mandate seriously but will comment it does drop the day after we return in March so joking I will say it drops then ;)

I live in a southern state and I'm not aware of a single city or county here that requires it. We haven't had a statewide mandate since last spring. Most stores around here don't require them either.
