They haven’t as a matter of policy, individual CMs gave up on dealing with entitled guests.

There is no excuse—none whatsoever—for flouting or skirting the mask requirement. It’s selfish and obnoxious. If you don’t want to visit Disney wearing a mask (and I get it, because I don’t and won’t), just wait until the requirement is dropped. It really isn’t that complicated.
Then you will comply and follow the policy , got it. If not there was a video of a guy at AK ranting and raving complaining of the mask policy while being escorted out of the park by Disney security while being filmed by fellow guests.

The complication lies in choosing to not go at all and lose your points and money...or...go on the trip and not enjoy yourself because of the mask requirements. DW and I are of the opinion that since there is no mask mandates where we live we don't want to go on vacation to be restricted. That's the opposite of a vacation in our opinion.
However, if not going means you've just thrown away the points/money because said points are going to expire then it does indeed make the choice to go or not complicated.

We are not in that situation this time, luckily. Our Jan trip that we're probably going to cancel 31 days out in Dec is the start of our use year so we have some wiggle room.
However, we were in that situation in October and choose to go even though we were there in Oct 2020 and hated it because masks were required everywhere then. DW cried when we got home because she hated our trip. So, we cancelled our Jan 2021 anniversary trip. When Disney dropped the masks we booked the October trip instead of banking...then masks came back. We decided to go instead of losing the money...DW cried again when we got home. That's why we'll cancel Jan 2022 anniversary if nothing changes prior to the cancellation window.
My comment above about the complication was more in general for those DVC folks who are in that situation now (like we were in October because those points were on a Dec use year so not much chance of renting them). Just wanted to throw out a different perspective thinking that the original poster was thinking of a no-penalty hotel reservation. With DVC, you can get to a timeframe where you're stuck with that complicated choice.

There are DVC locations that aren’t at WDW, right? could one not choose to use them somewhere other than WDW if they didn’t want to lose them? The resort may still require them, but whatever activities you are doing in that local area may not.
Or use the DVC points and then go to Universal or other Orlando area attractions that don’t require masks. I think there’s more choices here than losing the points or wearing a mask in the parks.

not that convenient.
DVC can exchange through timeshare networks as well…but that can have advantages and disadvantages.
generally speaking…the best “value” for DVC is at wdw…and it’s the reason and usage spot for the majority of owners.
it hasn’t been the greatest of times to use/enjoy dvc
but that still is a “first world problem”

@Sirwalterraleigh, The first time we tried with masks (Oct 2020 when masks were required everywhere) it was very hot and humid and frankly it was a struggle to breath with them on outside. Granted we weren't the only people affected by this...we get that. However, we truly did not enjoy ourselves at all that trip and Food & Wine is always something she loves doing. Honestly the masks ruined the trip for us (our opinion). So when we got home, she cried because in her words, she hated our trip. As she reflected on everything, the wasted PTO time, the wasted DVC points, the airfare, the money spent at Disney for food and cocktails, etc. It made her cry that she/we paid to be miserable.
For this past trip (Oct 2021), although it was nice to be outside in the humidity without a mask, wearing them inside the hotel, on transportation, etc. was annoying because we don't have to do that in the burgh (nice incline pic by the way). She cried again when we got home for the same reason...she hated our trip because the masks ruined it for her.

Then don’t go? Disney cast members don’t make the rules.
They absolutely have not relaxed enforcement. Masks are still required for all indoor locations.
