Why do you say if your became infected with the Black Plague you where dead ?

They have antibiotic treatments available.

It’s a very serious thing but it’s not guaranteed to be fatal.
Yeah if PROMPTLY treated mortality is only 50% of those infected.

So what’s your choice?

that or shut the park down?

because “people made their choices” is not a legitimate option for Disney…

…and “people know what’s best and can decide” has been indisputably been proven false.

choice masks don’t work because the very first people to take them off where those that didn’t get vaccinated.
Not hard to figure that out if you were out of the house at the time.

right…drywall guys and landscapers were waiting in line for moderna in March…while the masked nurse “couldn’t get an appointment”

…right.

I did my part, I wore my mask, got vaccinated when urged too. I'm done. If people need to be protected then it's up to them to protect themselves, I'm not doing it for them anymore, they made their choice. If you aren't vaccinated- stay home. If your children aren't vaccinated then what the heck are you doing bringing them to Disney during a Pandemic in the first place for.
Disney putting this policy in place is nothing more than trying to make you feel good about being jammed in with crowds during a Pandemic. That picture proves it. Now granted they are looking to the CDC, but come on, if you still follow what the CDC says after almost 2 years of revisions and back tracking well then I guess you are willing to believe anything.
Like I said, if you are there and you aren't vaccinated then walk in a different direction or better yet- be responsible for yourself and don't go, stop expecting others protect you from your own stupidity.
I can't imagine why anyone who is afraid of covid, likely because they have high risk factors, aren't vaccinated, etc., would go to a place like Disney - putting trust in the ideas that mask wearing is what comes between them getting ill, and not getting ill.

Restaurants can space tables reducing the risk. Outside seating can also help.

Bars not as much. Olga's doesn't lend itself to mask wearing or distancing. One solution. Charge a cover charge, maybe $20. Give guests a limited amount of time to take pictures and enjoy the ambiance while masked. Your drink, included with your cover charge. will be served in a to go souvenir glass.

Masks and social distancing helped to slow the spread. We are expecting the same results.
Eh no they did not, The CDC’s own studies show states without mask mandates and not keeping people indoors the virus spread more slowly.

That said it was probably letting people outside where UV light kills the virus quickly and efficiently and everyone using hand sanitizer which probably made the difference.

masks against a virus are a talisman not an effective defense.

Agreed, add to your list, don’t want to wear a mask. Don’t want to wear a mask, don’t do to WDW.

The number of mental hoops you have to jump thru to think you safer at Disney now, then you would have been 2 weeks ago is incredible.
Is that what we’re arguing?? “Feeling safer”

im on the wrong thread. Because this was always about optics. This the United States…not the peoples republic (someone let Iger know…)

…but also it’s about trying to be safer than sorry.

that doesn’t mean wdw isn’t a Petri dish…but they felt forced to do something. The minimum a frankly. When Pfizer goes to kids…I’d laud them if they went vaccine requirement. 100%

but the other thing is just follow the rules…if it moves some people to get vaccinated…it’s a positive.

I actually hope it does move more to get vaccinated but I don’t know it will honestly. I hate that those vaccinated have to be the billboard however to try to persuade them. Those who wanted it already have it I think but we’ll see if it goes up again.

I wish everyone would get it but I’m on the fence about employers forcing it. Now if they want to only allow vaccinated in for example at WDW (with kids exceptions) I would be ok with that considering where we are right now

Oh I agree…the messaging has been awful

but part of it are the flaws of the “federalist” system…

states fighting masks…then staying quiet on promoting vaccines until they got in trouble

it’s a cluster and we always do the absolute worse we can when there’s an argument

It’s as simple as who in charge is advocating for masks and vaccinations. That’s all it is. Sheep can’t sheep without a shepherd they approve of. It’s a black and white nation.
