I was wondering if anyone out there had any ideas as to what I can do...
I have 2 non disney people that think disney is just another amusment park... I was wondering if any one had any Ideas aas to how, when we get to disney, I can have them "get" the "disney magic". My dh is in his 30's and my sister is the other she is in her early 50's. They just don't "get it".

does anyopne have any ideas that i can do, to help. ie the kids have mickey calling in the morning, to help get them started... I'd like some ideas that I could help push along to help them have as magical a stay as i and my kids do.

I think if you are going to “get” the magic, you will get it when you walk onto main street. You have the castle in the background the smell of the nestle shop and the looks on the kids faces when they see their favorite character. Then as you head over to Splash mountain and you hear that music and see the logs coming down the flume. If this doesn’t do it, I say your only choice, disown them.

I spent a few hours this weekend with my boss and her husband this weekend at MGM. Neither have done much at Disney in over a decade. What I did that really sucked them in was pointing out many of the little unknown details like the key under the mat at Muppet Vision, the hidden mickey in the fountain, and the Do not pull the rope outside of Indiana Jones. They were really fascinated in all the detail put into the attractions at WDW unlike other amusement parks.

You don't do anything. You can't force a cognizance (realization) of anything. These things need to happen from within someones self. If you push, the natural response is to retreat or confront; both resistances. Answer there questions, ask where they might want to go, and then, see if they get-it. More than likely they will. Let us know how it works out. Good luck.

Haunted Mansion to me...but Splash is still wonderful.

I don't know the age of your kids, but youngsters are a cool way of sneaking in WDW info. with out being pushy. Example: When I find out some new thing about WDW or Disney in general I will tell my DD (12 almost 13) about it while other people are around. "Hey, DD, I think it is really cool that AK doesn't use plastic stir straws or plastic lids as a added protection for the animals" or "DD, I found an internet site that lists several hidden mickeys we haven't found yet in the Conservation Station mural" or "This year let's see how many CMs use the two finger point vs the open palm!" I've had people, family included, start to ask questions when they "overhear" our conversation because it isn't the regular "What are we gonna ride this year?" stuff. Good luck and I hope everyone has a magical trip.

Ensure their eyes are open and the ears are functioning. After that, let nature take it's course.

It worked when I took my mother there :)

We were looking to do a Disney cruise because friends of ours have never been to Disney. But the cruise was just a bit pricey. I think we will wait until we have some kids.

Best advice is to let them find what makes Disney magical. To me Disney Magic is almost a religious experience. You either truly believe or you dont.Im not religious at all but I think I would compare it to being a true religious believer or someone who just goes to Church or Temple every week just to go.I see thousandds of guests that go to WDW and you can tell they are there just for their kids but truly dont get it.To me its a feeling I cant describe in words except maybe MAGICAL.:sohappy:

The disney magic is partly nostalga, many people feel the magic because they are re-living childhood memories. In your case, take them to some of the hotels, and nice restraunt, or something that average amusement parks don't have. Go on A Thrill ride like Splash Mountain or Pirates, and they're bound to notice nothing has been overlooked. Attention to detail is another HUGE part of the Magical experiance at WDW.

thank all of you for your wonderful insites, and ideas... I too find it a sort of "religous experience".

I am most definately going to try and get some of that trivia stuff down. I'm sure that will help out a lot.

I wish you all a magicical day!!

Thank you:kiss:
