Disney Magic Express missed bus question

Hey all,

My friend who is down at WDW right now has a question. What happens if you miss your Disney Magic Express bus. Their flight leaves at 10:30 a.m. so they need to catch a 7:30 a.m. bus. With 4 kids, luggage, and breakfast, they want to know what happens if they don't make their scheduled bus time.

Has anyone missed the bus? Do they get you on a another one or do you have to take a cab?

Thanks!

I would imagine it would depend on how full the next bus is. The last time we used ME, there was a couple who had missed their bus, and were told that our bus would be full.

I'd tell them to plan to get breakfast at the airport.

Get pastries the night before to keep in the room so the kids can eat on the run...I would make every effort to not miss the ME, like others said there are no guarantees that they can accommodate them.

out of curiosity - what is the estimated cab rate - I thought it was about $100. They would need a van b.c. its 2 adults and 4 kids plus stroller, ,car seat and luggage.

I would definitely skip breakfast unless they were eating at 6:30AM. There is no guarantee of room on the next buses that show up. In my experience, the buses back to MCO are usually pretty full. One slight delay and as busy as MCO is, you could easily miss your flight.

DME is very accommodating, but they are not responsible for missing flights. The last resort and it is extremely easy is a cab. It is not exactly expensive, but not cheap either. It would be about $80 with tip.

When we were taking a bus to WL from Epcot last year and there was a woman sitting across from us who was scheduled to be on the 2:30 DME. It was 2:20 when we were picked up from Epcot. She was on the phone with Disney to see if they could put her on the next DME and they said no they wouldn't. They didn't want to be responsible for the guest if they missed their flight which is why they send DME to pick you up around 3 hours before your scheduled flight. The woman was ticked that she had to make alternate arrangements but hey, dont stay at a a park until 10 minutes before your bus is scheduled to pick you up next time!!!

Anywaym glad to hear they made it!! :)
