I know when I think of that location and it's proximity to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge, the first thing that comes to my head is "Hey this is a great spot for a mid-rise modern apartment building or Fairfield Inn...."
Or a Tree STOMP Villa. Note: I said Stomp šŸ˜‰ as the hovering tree tower is unpleasant Stomp in your face from miles. Forget the insult inspiration to TreeHouse VillasšŸ¤..

All in good time. But too many words.

But first, as a gesture of good faith... What I posted above isn't an April Fools joke.

A rendered example of what may be on that wall ("Artwork to be provided by WDI"):

I know he's working on site issues, but I'll tag him anyway. @wdwmagic If you want to post this on the main site, feel free (if you can corroborate, of course. I don't want to bring what turns out to be false information and have you post it as fact).

The (proposed, not sure if it's firm yet or not) name of the lakeside table service restaurant is...

Bob'$ Palace

šŸ¤£ I kid, I kid.

It looks like they are going for something a bit more upscale with this one, if I had to guess.

And again, "WDI to provide artwork".

It ... kind of... fits? It's a stretch, but I really wish they had come up with something different and not based on PatF. Or any movie, for that matter.

Sorry to be negative but why wouldnā€™t this go at Port Orleans, instead of an area themed roughly to the Pacific Northwest? Or, more loosely, forests (vs. bayous). If they need IP, wish theyā€™d go with a generic National Geographic theme, they could do a lot with that.

It's not negative, it's an honest question. And, to me, it would make more sense to place a restaurant around Tiana in a place like Port Orleans than at a resort themed to a Pacific Northwest lakeside lodge.

Thanks. I especially feel this way if itā€™s going to be a heavily themed and / or a character restaurant. Tiana makes so much more sense at Port Orleans, and Iā€™m sure there are amazing things they could do with a woodland theme at Lakeside (I mean if every Cabelaā€™s can afford a ā€œmountainā€ with a working pond, imagine what Disney could do.)

There was previous concept art released somewhere that Iā€™ll try to find, but it seemed upscale and really leaning into the bayou setting rather than being PRINCESS in your face, so I can see how it works in the setting.

I think it sounds fantastic, I just feel like it would be like adding a luau to Grand Floridian. Like thereā€™s a resort that is literally themed to a bayou in New Orleans already. I dunno, maybe Iā€™m being rigid, Iā€™m just not seeing it.

The fact that POR is a moderate is probably at least part of the issue. I'm sure they want a restaurant like that at a deluxe.

Another issue (although maybe not one for current Disney) is that POR's table service restaurant already has a specific theme that ties in with the surroundings; converting it to Tiana's restaurant would probably require dumping that theme and converting it to something incongruous with the rest of the area.

I see what youā€™re saying, I think it could work both places, but have the more in your face Tiana at PO. Hereā€™s some concept art for Reflections.
