I agree.:fork: My problem is I remember when they were open at MK untill 12 pm and sometimes it was 1 or 2 AM before we left main street. So these hours do seem atrocious to me, also!!

My family and myself are NOT morning people soooooo that does not help, besides WHO wants to get up early on vacation----

I do! I can sleep at home- WDW vacations come along only once in a while.

Most families with young children are used to getting up early anyway

Erika, you hit the nail on the head! I want to get there before the gates drop, and stay 'til closing! I know if I don't do it when I'm there, I will have to wait a year to do it again!!:D

:animwink: ME TOO--- but still wish it would be a little later---:snore:

jenjie Why would anyone say they are too young?? We took my grandson when he was "2", he had great time and remembered a lot. You can go back and rest IF you are one of the morning people. It is a little hard when the parks are busy. You spend a lot of time waiting. (do not forget to get fastpass')

If you go to AK, MGM, or MK for a while sometimes you can go back and rest for an hour or so and just go to EPCOT for Illuminations at 9, and a few rides before 7, or maybe Downtown Disney.

If you go to Epcot the children can run around in the fountains at the entrance to World showcase, during the day and that will tire them out.(IF it is warm enough) We always bring an extra set of clothes or his bathing suit (under his clothes) and a towel.

After that he will usually fall asleep and then we can shop while he sleeps in the stroller-- Humm do not think that would work with your dad though--:D ( they have places for the children to play at all of the parks just have to look for them) I am sure you will have a great time. Enjoy!!:sohappy:

Sorry to stray off thread all just wanted to answer jen. :lookaroun

Thanks Pepsistar!

Thanks, those are some terrific ideas! I hope my kids would fall asleep in the strollers. That way mommy & daddy could go on a few big people rides while the grandparents watch them. :D I'm not expecting it though. And if we end up going back to the room, they will be either too excited to sleep or my dd will end up sleeping for 3 hours. Oh I know, we can just ride around in the car for an hour or so! LOL That way they can fall asleep in the car and wake up when we stop the car.

I doubt we'll be getting to the parks extra early. My dh is a night worker so he's used to sleeping all morning. It's going to be hard to get him out the door with a smile on his face.

Thanks for the idea of the fountain at Epcot. I wondered if there was a place for them to just run around there.

One more thing-- do you know about the baby swap? 8D If not-- you all wait in line and when it is time to go on the ride one of you goes and the other stays with the children. When the first one gets off the second goes on the ride with out waiting again!! Works well! Sure saves a lot of time, and then you can go on some of the rides that you may not have gotten to. If dh is using a wheelchair-- should be able to get in a little sooner also-- on some rides, not all. (can rent to electric ones?)

Also, If you are staying on property check on the E-ride nights. They may have them in March?

Is it possible for the grandparents to go to the room by themselves for a nap? While you play? ;)

One note-- do not forget to check out the new "BIG" Toy store at Downtown Disney bring lots of $$$$$$$ Then you will need to eat at the Mc Donalds there. (it is open until 1 or 2)

If you all ready know these things sorry, did not know if this was your first? trip or not--- How long are you staying? Can I come :D
Just kidding-- Have a wonderful time!!!!:sohappy: :D

First of all, let me apologize for taking over this thread. Sorry about that folks!

OK pepsistar, I have been to WDW one other time but it was back in '96 so there is alot of new stuff for me to learn. All suggestions are appreciated! I am just thankful for anyone kind enough to take an interest in my questions.

I feel like I'm repeating myself so please forgive me if you've heard this before. The whole reason for us going on this trip is b/c my parents wanted to do this for our kids. We are only staying for 4 days so don't feel that we have alot of time to see and do all the stuff we and the kids want to do. I am making up a list of must-see's and would like to see's for the kids, plus keeping in mind one or two things for each park that dh and I might be interested in, just in case. But not counting on it. I'm still not sure what the crowd situation is going to be like mid-March. I keep hearing conflicting info. I'm sure my parents would love to take the kids on some rides while we go off on our own for a bit but it would be hard with my dad in a wheelchair (hopefully the electric one!) for my mom to deal with even a double stroller. So we'll play that all by ear.

We do hope to have one evening where my parents babysit and dh and I can go out for dinner and the parks. My intentions are to visit the World Showcase in Epcot during that time.

E-ride nights would be great but we are staying off-property.

Thanks for the info about the new toy store, is this the one with the famous Mr Potato Head?

Only 36 days left! :sohappy:

Boy....Pepsistar gave some terrific suggestions!
We are seasoned Disney travelers...and ALWAYS have come with infant....and more! The younger ones enjoy Disney as much as the older ones. Do not ever think that anyone is too YOUNG to bring to DisneyWorld!!! ....particularly in the spring or winter when the temperatures are not too high.
The only thing I will add to Pepsistar's hints is this:
video, video, video.
Video everything.
The kids watch, rewatch, rerewatch all year long. Plus it will be such a wonderful way to remember your parents trip with your children.
Try to schedule a character meal as well if you can.
Where are you staying?
....and also, mid March should be perfect.
Have a GREAT time! I envy you...wish I was going that soon!

Yesssssss we have a reservation for the Cinderella breakfast :king: for our first full day! My dd will have her 3rd bday on the day we come home so this is something special to celebrate for her. The reservationist was kind enough to remind me, several times, to mention dd's bday to the waitresses. Should be fun! I'm trying to decide if I want to dress her in a princess dress for the occasion.

We're staying at a place called "condos east of disney" http://www.disneyworldvacationcenter.com From the website and info they've sent us, it should be really nice. 5 minutes away from WDW, a 2 BR condo for $114 per night. Long story short, one big reason we're staying off-property, we didn't want to be cooped up in a motel room with the 2 little ones. We wanted them to have some room to move around, plus be able to go to sleep without the distraction of the rest of us in the room.

Thanks for the reminder about the video. We showed the kids our video from our previous trip. (An aside, it was right after Christmas that we watched it. My ds thought Beauty & the Beast were celebrating Hannukkah because of all the candelabras. LOL) One thing I want to make sure is to have US in the video, not just the sights and attractions of WDW.
