Been going to Disney World for over 45 years and never tried a Mickey bar. At those prices it will probably stay that way.

By the way, do they taste any different than you'd imagine after having similar things?

Actually, it's a really persistent urban legend that Disney doesn't pay for Coke products. They do. A friend of mine works for Coke and has seen the numbers.

At WDW it was "common knowledge" among the various foods departments that the syrup was not paid for. Could obviously be incorrect, but seemed to be accurate as foods CMs had unlimited access to fountain beverages for themselves, but the bottles were inventoried and counted and the only significant cost to the company.

I have been going until finally caved in last year. They are nothing special.
I think you can get the same flavour as the standard DOVE ones ( or for my local area.. the "Holanda" brand )

I can tell when some have been eating Mickey Bar ice cream. In the 100 degree heat of the summer in the parks, I have seen and my sneakers at times have stepped on fresh chocolate stains that have fallen on the concrete walkways.

I hate the price hikes too, but I'd like to say...

I went to an NBA game last week, and the concessions there were higher than this. The week before that, we were in Vegas - and I've never seen so many overpriced restaurants. This is just what it costs when you go to a vacation spot or premium event. WDW is certainly premium...

It's priced as premium, but the vast majority of the restaurants and hotels are not in service or overall quality, which I think is the real issue.

I'm the same. I feel guilty about things I didn't even do. And I can't lie to save my life - my face rats me out every time.
Lol I'm worse, I Crack under pressure lol. My siblings hated letting me in on escapades because I could never stick to the "story".
My dad said I confessed to burying
Jimmy Hoffa when i was 13😂

I too hit the concessions stands

I disagree. It’s an entertainment venue. If you go on vacation to NYC and go to a game one night and a broad show the next you’re going to be paying ridiculous prices

You don't think WDW is a premium experience? What's better in theme parks? Six Flags? Universal? Ha. That's what we have to compare to here...

I wasn't comparing it to other theme parks, which is why I specifically pointed out the food and hotel quality. With that said, I think the Universal deluxe hotels are as nice as (if not nicer than) some of the Disney deluxes, especially now that Disney has been stripping away the theming that made theme stand out as different. I'd rather stay in the Royal Pacific over at least half of the Disney deluxe hotels, even if the price was the same (and it's usually not).

Universal offers an all-around more enjoyable, higher quality experience by quite a margin at the moment. And at a significantly lower price point. And the future plans of each resort indicate the gap will only widen in the coming years.

Inflation is killing the restaurant business right now. All of our raw cost are going up faster then being reported. Sure Disney makes money but you cannot blame them for passing cost on to us. They have margin goals to hit and they have no choice.

Of course they have a choice. Disney is not running on razor thin margins. They hike prices constantly, completely unrelated to inflation, and they will continue to do so.

Keep thinking that. you think any company is going to say hey let’s make less money because our cost keep going up.

Laughable.

And anyone claiming otherwise is not being truthful. As I will ask this you get a raise because inflation is so high and a company is going to raise prices to pay for it. Will you give that raise up when pricing drops? So the company can lower cost of good price to consumer?

This inflation supply shortage crisis did not need to happen.

Disney raised their ticket prices 30% over about six years. Hotel rates have skyrocketed to absurd levels. There are plenty of charts available showing how WDW has raised prices phenomenally, far outstripping inflation. And the increases under discussion here are much higher then current inflation rates.

If Disney’s price increases had even been slightly tied to inflation over the last several decades, sure, blaming inflation for price increases would be valid.
