Just saw your from North Carolina. We were having lunch at Cookes of Dublin back in July and I met this really nice guy Jerry Harmon from NC. Told me he was a country & western singer.Anyway he gave me his web site and lo & behold,he is a country singer.I'd never heard of him but I contacted him and he got back to me.Have you heard of him? :)

Haha! No, I haven't heard of him. Country isn't my genre of choice. ;)

See now this one of the those people I would have had to have said...
"so tell me what you like so much about C&W music..." ;)

See a "Hatter" engages a convo and makes friends...

A "hater" would been like..."Country what??? Website who...??? Yeah whatever dude..let me get back to my Doh bar"

I know plenty.

In fact, Disney is a bit frowned upon in my circles. A silly, commercial, a-cultural waste of time. And that's the friendly opinion.
I know two people who went to Orlando and prided themselves on not having set foot in any theme park! They just went to see Celebration and condemn the complicity of architecture in the artificiality of 21st century America. Or some such.

Oh well. Me I am a Disney nut. After many years of being quiet about it, I am now outspoken about it. Disney was a genius, the MK is the greatest gesamtkunstwerk of the twentieth century, EPCOT is out of this world. I share my love with the people who love it too, or with people who love me and simply nod politely when I go on yet another hour-long teary-eyed talk about the beauty of the farm scene in Living with the Land.

I've had to deal with a lot similar reactions to Disney. Just the opinion never seems to be friendly.

I don't mind if someone doesn't like Disney. I hate camping, but I won't rail on someone if they tell me they are going camping. I don't waste their time on why camping is such a terrible thing to do with your vacation days. But with Disney people really feel they need to give a pedantic speech on how much Disney is a mind-numbing waste of time.

And if they are going to be so smug about it, then my mental response is just two words. The first starts with F.

I deal with it at least weekly. It is almost like my co-workers feel they have a right to let me know how they feel about Disney. I don't let everyone know how I feel about all the things they enjoy that I have no interest in, yet it is open seasons on Disney Fans. Two weeks ago someone said to me(non co-worker) "I will never vacation at Disney again. It was hot, crowded and expensive" Having had a enough from this person I said "Good... that is one less idiot in the park".

You should just randomly mention how much you hate their interests over lunch. Do not go into detail, just let something slip in conversation and then look like you have no idea what they're talking about when they call you out on it. ;)

Haha! You must live near me! ;) I think I'm the only person in North Carolina that doesn't spend weekends watching cars make left turns. But I couldn't agree more with what you said. It must be exhausting to stay so negative and grouchy.
Oh no...I live in Fayetteville...and I dont spend weekends watching people make left turns either...lol

Someone at work was shocked I went to Disney over Labor Day with no kids...they said why would you go there....its only for kids....so I asked when the4 last time they had been to WDW...and they said never...I simply shook my head and told them they were missing out something special and ought to do a due diligence and research the Disney website....

If everyone liked WDW think of how crowded and expensive the place would be. The more hating, the better.

I agree with you. As many people that visit Walt Disney World everyday. I would not want a bunch of haters turining into fans. You would not even be able to get into the Magic Kingdom.

One of my best friends from college is a Disney hater. She told me that my trips to WDW are her "worst nightmare". She took her kids for the first time this year - but only for one day, and they left before the parade or fireworks.

My co-workers joke about me going so frequently, but I think that's 'cause they're jealous that they don't have as much magic in their lives. :D

Nah, there's at least two of us in this state! ;)

I am trying SOOOO hard to not become a Disney hater! I'm trying to keep my first trip in my thoughts more then this one we just got back from! This one, we had my mother and father in law with us and my FIL was just DETERMINED to be a grump all day. He truly ruined it for me. I told Josh (husband) that I would be ok with NEVER going to WDW again - Thats how bad it was.

So now, Im planning our trip to DisneyLAND in 2014 and Im trying to take it slow and get back into the Disney spirit. Im so bummed at how this past trip went down. I was so excited about it and he seriously just screwed it up so badly for me :'(

If you find me being a Disney hater, smack me! HAHAHA

Noooooo....I hate to hear that, Britt!! I know how excited you were before your trip. Feel free to vent to us anytime!!

My cousin... she is not a Disney person. Which is odd, because we grew up watching the same movies, playing the same games. We played "The Lion King" or "Beauty and the Beast" instead of "house" like normal kids. She got the chance to go to WDW years before I did, and she spent most of the trip in her hotel room, missing out on all of the parks except a half day at MK. And now, every time I go to WDW or do something Disney-related, she is the first to pour on the down sauce.

I just posed a picture of my new hidden Mickey tattoo on FB and my friends, Disney lovers and those who are impartial alike, made comments about thinking it was cute or right up my alley. Meanwhile, my cousin posts "okay..."

Do any of you know people like this? People whose goal in life is to be negative about all Disney things that make you smile? :(

Why yes...They are known as Debbie Downers..Take this video for example..

I love this skit for a lot of reasons.. They did a great job getting the whole Disney vibe and for once Jimmy Fallon wasn't the only one who couldn't keep his sh*t together....hahahaha...I know lorn michaels isn't crazy about..the players breaking character, but sometimes that's what puts the bit over the top... absolutely classic.
