Disney Halloween Costume?

Hey All. I am bored again and felt like starting another discusssion.

How many of you who have little kids, dress them up in a Disney costume each year? My DS who is almost 3, was Mickey Mouse when he was 1 and Winnie the Pooh when he was 2. This year, He is either going as Woody from Toy Story or Handy Manny from the new show that premieres this weekend. We go to disney.com and play the Handy Manny games everyday and he is obessed. So, I thought it would be fun for him to dress up like Manny for Halloween.

Anyone else?

My mom dressed me up as Ariel when I was 2 or 3. I had this amazing, bright red wig and a sequiny purple top and sequined green "fins". It was pretty awesome.

I don't have children of my own to dress up quite yet, but when I do, they will have amazing Disney costumes every year until they're old enough to protest. Being my children, however, they never will.

I try to, but my kids always find something else to be. Although, last year my youngest was Chicken Little. This year however I have a female version of Jack Sparrow(don't ask), and my oldest is trying to find an Elizabeth Swan costume in her size. Not as easy as I thought it would be. She doesn't want her in the pirate clothes, she wants the dress. With the new movie out all I am finding is the pirate clothes.

However, I will be the Evil Queen from Snow White. I am so excited. My daughter's birthday is right near halloween so this year we are doing a halloween themed party. Should be fun.

We have 2 girls 9 and 6 and they look forward to the MNSSHP now and thus a costume to go in. I usually wait for any discounts on DisneyShopping and get them something. Hey, if I am going to buy some cheap costumes from a local store I would rather spend a few dollars more and get it from Disney...

Anyway, back on topic.....my oldest has been tink for about three years and she has literally grown out of that costume (she is tall) and this year she wanted to be Stitch (but she did not like the boys costume) so she is now going to be Violet from the Incredibles! My youngest has been Cinderella and Lilo. This year she will be Belle in the golden dress.

Costumes are in the mail and we should be getting them any day now! 2 weeks till vacation!:sohappy:

I sew a different Disney costume every year for myself. I don't have kids, but when I do, they will be in Disney costumes as well!

I think it's cute when the kids are all themed to each other (all costumes from Toy Story, Fab 5, Incredibles, etc)

does anyone have any ideas of what men (who are bound to be objectional about dressing up) can wear? I need a cool idea to do some persuading with....

I think this year will be flooded with Pirates. Lots and lots of Pirates.

BTW When you said Handy Man, I instantly thought of the In Living Color version and laughed.

Our granddaughter was:

Age 1 MINNIE MOUSE

Age 2 WINNIE the POOH

Age 3 SNOW WHITE

Age 4 TINKERBELLE

Age 5 BELLE

Age 6 CINDERELLA

Her parents always got her costume in the WORLD of DISNEY store at the MARKETPLACE when we went to WDW for our summer trip but we didn't get there this summer! She's telling them she wants to be a witch this year. Guess we'll wait and see who shows up on our front porch TRICK or TREAT night!:fork:

I always made elaborate costumes for my kids when they were little. One year DD was Jasmine flying on a magic carpet (complete with fake legs on it so she looked like she was kneeling. DS was Alladin that year with his stuffed monkey velcroed to his shoulder.

Last year we were the Mickey Mouse Club. VERY easy to pack, and no one else had the same idea that night. It couldn't have been easier. My wife got nice t-shirts and iron-on letters so we each had shirts with our names on them... We each got Mickey ears a couple days before the party there and had our names put on them... Then the girls had bought navy skirts, and I had navy shorts... We all wore whatever tennis shoes we wanted.

It worked out GREAT, and they were a huge hit. Lots of compliements, and better yet, the face characters and CM's kept calling us by name all night, which the kids thought was awesome.

But that's a no hassle costume that even the stuffiest of guys should be okay with.

Disney character costumes can be found in the costume shops.

You can find any type of costumes in there, besides the Disney character costumes.
