In 2000 myself and my husband visited wdw for our honeymoon and stayed at all star movies... I remember that we received "one wish each" for staying at a WDW resort and having the unlimited 14 day pass... we had a picture taken with mickey professionally at Downtown Disney as one wish and received a photoframe for the second, there were loads of wishes you could choose from... does this still happen when you check in or have they done away with this priviledge...!!! just wondered as we are coming from the UK in 7 1/2 weeks with two kids 2 1/2 and 4 1/2... can any one help..!!!:)

Those were the flex features right? I don't believe they still have them. You do sometimes get a free pin and lanyard but I am not even sure they still do that.

No flex features anymore, but you do usually get the free pin and lanyard for your package. When we booked with AAA we get a free meal at Planet Hollywood. Not that I'm that thrilled with Planet Hollweird but it is a free meal.

Not only do we get the soap and shampoo, we also get pens with "Walt Disney Resorts" on them. In fact, I am using one at work right now.:lookaroun

When were there in February and had booked through WDTC we got a free photopass certificate (1 free 5x7), a meal voucher good for one entree at Planet Hollywood DTD and a coupon for a free gift at Planet Hollywood DTD.

Soap, shampoo, pens, and some great maps, too :) .....well, maybe not this year, as the maps, apparently, have changed. :hurl:

The OP's 'gifts' sound an awful lot like the old Honeymoon package you could get. We got a nice clock in the shape of Mickey ears. :)

One year I got a replica of SSE where the ball screwed apart to put stuff inside for storage. It's about 9 inches tall and pretty cool. I also got a really nice picture frame where the base is Mickey's arm holding the border for the 2000 celebration.

LOL at the end of the week my room safe always smells so clean and fresh - because that's where the soaps and shampoo go. ;)

The original post was refering to (as others have said) the Flex feature which is now discontinued. There was a leaflet included in your resort welcome pack detailing the available free gifts, one per guest.

We chose the alarm clock featuring Mickey and Goofy looking through magnifying glasses at a large rock/fossil and also the "Magic in the Streets" Parade memories cd.

Sounds a lot like the old "Silver Package," right? We did that once. It was pretty nice, but quite pricey. It cost us more in 2001 with the silver package than our trip in July is costing us.

Used to be if you checked in with an AMEX card, you would get the "White Glove Treatment" which included a pin, a pack, and a little booklet about discounts you could receive. It was a great service and we used the packs each year we went!

Just to add on here: The "free" lanyard and pins some people have referred to is a AAA bonus. This is not included in the normal vacation plans that you book online at disneyworld.com or directly through disney... or through any other travel agent other than AAA for that matter.

Hope this helps - didn't want any confusion on that part... :)

(and though it's been covered - that was a flex feature option the OP was talking about and yes they've done away with that)

it wasn't a honeymoon package. My boyfriend and I went in 2000 also. We got the 'wishes' too. We used them for a breakfast at crystal palace which was awesome! We also got a free pin.

tricia.
