I can't really understand what they are patenting from the diagrams alone. Do you have a link to the actual patent? Where did you find this?

All I can say is that the girl has a terrible hat. Why?? And the guy looks like he's going for a mullet. Why??

could it be for something like this?:

That is very cool... not just the technology, but the sequence itself, too.

One is dressed as a pirate and the other is an elf or fairy.

I love all of the intriguing patents we get. Half of the images/drawings make no sense it looks like an imagineer's version of pictionary. Sounds cool though

The idea behind this is that you have a projector showing virtual objects onto a surface and then a physical object that the user can manipulate which will allow them to control the virtual objects.

What I think they are showing in the example is a pirate ship game played on a table at a restaurant where you control the ships using your plate. When you turn the plate you ship on the table would turn, but there would also be a second ship projected on to your plate. They could also do something like projecting a ships wheel onto the plate.

Ah AR, soon it will be everywhere (without the need for a phone as intermediary)!

Perhaps, interactive games will even infiltrate the restrooms!
