Woah. Slow down a notch with the labels. Of everything? Or just worth more of my time and money to me vs other theme parks in the area.

Plus your ratios don’t seems far off from mine.
Our ratios are similar because as a kid I went to DL at least three times a year. Then I had an AP from 1994-2014. I gave it up because of the crowds, the quality of service and pure boredom. You know when it is time to quit when the kids would rather do homework than go to Disneyland for the evening. I have no desire to wander around GE. I would rather go to Knotts and see a show for the evening, eat a funnel cake and not ride anything. MM was fine for a couple of years except it gets old really quickly dealing with stupid employees and a long drive. Universal doesn't change enough to warrant a visit more than once every couple of years. However, since then I've been to alot of other parks across the country. There are some places that just do things better and are more imaginative than Disney is now.

Well it would help if Disney had any theme park competition. In California at least.

Maybe it depends on your definition of competition, but I put Disney in another class than every other theme park operator out there. In that context Disney has no competition. Universal has made great strides and perhaps is on the doorstep. They have reached Disney level quality in some cases. It's not consistent though. I'll be interested to see what their 3rd gate in Orlando looks like. Personally for me the closest park to hit the essence of Disney is Efetling. Otherwise Disney is only competing against itself. The attendance numbers continue to bear out Disney's dominance as the world leader in theme park entertainment.

I'd put the heritage-areas of Knott's as Disney equals (it helps that some of Ghost Town is made of actual transplanted historic buildings), but you do have to accept the coaster invasion along with it. Efteling's on my bucket list; I would love to spend several days at that park!

The other parks only have to take one day away from a Disney trip. That’s the real competition. While Disney gives you more in quality, it costs so much more. But I can spend even more in the other parks, thus making it up from the lower admission prices. I can also choose to not spend from obvious Disney price gouging. Did you know outside food and drink can be brought up into Disneyland? Saved a ton.

I travel from across the country and unless it’s in the winter (Peanuts Festival is not enough of a draw, but Ghost Town Alive, Christmas and especially Haunt) Knott’s gets a day from me every trip. It’s a blast, and a nice change of pace from DL; I’m a huge theme park guy and Knott’s is a top ten park, you’re missing out.

USH is nice but I’m spoiled by Orlando.

On average I visit ~20 parks a year. Most of those parks aren't owned by Disney.

While Disney at its best has no equal, I find that the best regional parks offer me a product I find nearly as satisfying as an average day at Disney for half the price.

And while this doesn't hit for California as much, I get "Orlando fatigue." Not from being there, but from hearing about it so much. It's exhausting how some people think that if it's not happening in Orlando it couldn't possibly be interesting, well-done, or worth their time. It's another reason to support the regional parks and enjoy the many wonderful things they offer.

Darkbeer, do you know if Knott's is good about working with food allergies like Disney is? That Boysenberry Festival sounds good but I have soooo many food allergies.
Yes. I am at the Convention Center, but I will post a dining guide later. Lots of different options depending on your needs and diet.

By the way, Cedar Fair officially said No Thanks to Six Flags and No new offer is expected.
