I'm sorry, but in the 25 years I've lived in So Cal I have never, not once, felt the need, desire, urge, or motivation to visit Knott's Berry Farm.

In conjunction with that, I have been to:
-Universal Studios Hollywood: 1 time (theme park specifically)
-Sea World: 1 time
-Six Flags Magic Mountain: 2 times (both prior to 2005)
-Legoland: 0 times

And you know what??? I'm 100% OK with keeping it that way.

Hmmm what’s my count? I think it’s something like ...

Magic Mountain - 10. (Mostly late 90s/ early 2000’s)

USH - 15 (if you count a few Horror nights)

Knotts - 3 ( just can’t get myself to stop there when DL is 5 minutes away and I already drove an hour + in traffic.) I wonder how much better business Knotts would do if it were further away from DL. It is a regional park after all. People that fly to DLR aren’t going there.

Sea World - 2

Legoland- 0

Disneyland - 125+

DCA (without going to DL) - 2

The irony is, I live MUCH closer to Universal and Six Flags (I'll actually pass it on my way home from work) and yet... I just can't be bothered. I'm not a coaster person, so SF holds very little interest in me and I I frankly wasn't impressed with Universal's execution.

Oh, and I even used to work on the Universal lot :)

Actually, you would be surprised to find out how many "out of town" DLR visitors also visit Knott's. Visit Anaheim has done some extensive survey's, and the numbers are impressive. The Aussie/New Zealand market has over 1/3 of visitors coming to Anaheim for a full vacation visiting Knott's for at least 1 day, many doing 2 during the summer (Soak City). And if you look at others visiting from outside SoCal and getting Lodging, it is also significant.

Same here. I live about 20 minutes from both. I used to love those monster Coasters but now my anxiety has me thinking that I’ll have a stroke or an aneurism on one of them. Not scared of the ride but what the ride might do to me if that makes sense. Although some of the crazier ones like X2 I never liked. My favorites at Magic Mountain were Riddlers Revenge in it’s heyday when it was smooth, Goliath and Tatsu.

Interesting. I still think they would be better off further away from DL don’t you? Not that it’s possible but 1/3 of the tourists of 2 countries v more year round locals.

Ugh. Riddler's Revenge had me in so much pain because a certain friend of mine thought it would be a laugh to tell me to jump as the poor excuse for a bike-seat came shooting up in place. As you can well imagine... I was straining to keep my toes on the ground with most of my weight resting on my... erm... important parts. That, combined with multiple inversions did me in. I swore off rollercoasters (barring one eventual spin on California Screamin' years later) from that point.

Goliath was fun, once, but like you, I don't think my anxiety would even let me get in line for it again.

So basically you are a pixie duster that thinks Disney is the end all be all for everything. I've been to these places many times in my life.
MM approx 40
USH approx 20
Sea World 15
Legoland 5
Disneyland 250+
DCA 230+
Knotts 55+
I've also been to many other parks across the country. There are things that Disney does well and things that are far better elsewhere. I've seen the quality of Disneyland decrease over years. Sometimes you just need a different hamburger than a Big Mac.

Woah. Slow down a notch with the labels. Of everything? Or just worth more of my time and money to me vs other theme parks in the area.

Plus your ratios don’t seems far off from mine.

Dude. You're missing out on one of the most historic parks in the U.S., containing the world's greatest log flume and a wonderful mine ride. It's changed a lot under Cedar Fair, but the Ghost Town is still charming as anything. I'd take Knott's over any other park in CA that doesn't begin with "Dis" and end with "and". And Timber Mtn. Log Ride is better than anything at DL except for Pirates and HM.

Well, each of the Aussies equals 7 DLR clicks, 1.5 Knott's and 1 USH. out of a 14 day trip......

Hey Moon Man, the ADL says you are racist.... But then again, anything is now racist

Well, I say the ADL is racist! They just need to chillax and have a Big Mac while I noodle on this piano.

I mean, I don't doubt your claims of its excellence, (how could I?) but I'm gonna need more than that to get me to pony up the money for admission.
Except McDonalds beef looks like it AFTER its cooked. It sure does taste different from anywhere else.
You can direct all your complaints to McDonalds Headquarters :)
