Shocking. I truly believed that they started about a week before the announcement. The concept art seemed like very early art and details were sparse.
Well, pandemic distancing definitely was a challenge, but that doesn’t excuse the animation quality or the show’s lack of a heart. Surely someone at the Walt Disney Co. could have made better animations, at least!

Maybe it was cockiness? HEA was meant to be a temp show, right? They figured they could follow that formula, and with the reopening crowds it would be a massive success. So they phoned it in a bit? Big guess on my part, but doesn't feel like that much of a stretch - they're all humans after all.

It doesn't really mention the 50th
It is incredibly specific to the anniversary and origins of Walt Disney World. Include's Roy's speech and uses the 50th tagline "you are the magic."

It may not specifically "mention the 50th" but without the context of the 50th, the intro is really odd. It's very different than Disneyland Forever.

How long did HEA take???????
Longer than DE but under a different set of circumstances. Due to the intended temporary nature of the show, there was much more creative freedom given. Additionally, the projections were not done by Disney but by a very, very experienced company, so time was not as much of an issue.
HEA it was made in a relatively short amount of time with some leftover budget money, I believe (though I could be wrong). Definitely different from other shows in that regard.
The "leftover budget money" notion isn't entirely accurate. None of these shows are particularly expensive to produce; at least not when compared to a new attraction, for example.

Hope Im wrong but I think if the public opinion is positive enough on the recent change/addition, they will leave it as is, lipstick on a pig basically unfortunately. Too little too late and not enough, even though the team that put this addition together did such a nice job.
TDO would love to leave this in place just as is, but question is is it enough to them? Its not to the likes of us here, but internally......

From what I understand, the decision for next year (whatever it is) was made long before they even debuted the changes. If that decision was in fact to sunset the show, they will stick to that. They aren't going to do an audible based around some likely temporary good sentiment around a new intro to a show that is still largely disliked. It won't be long before people grow tired of it and back to square one. I don't know what their plans are, but I don't think the intro changes them.

Yes, the decision was made before the recent changes. Those changes were just meant to shore up ratings for DE. No idea why it took almost a year.

The strongest hypothesis is that such changes would put an expiration date on the show and therefore could not do so until they had decided to move on from the show. Otherwise, if it does stick around, it makes absolutely no sense.

Mmmhmm we shall see about that Josh lol. Does this go for the ones wanting a certain nighttime entertainment offering that’s been missing from the MK for years?

Could be for any number of reasons. He is a big Disney fan and was in Turning Red and other things
Indeed...

Besides Turning Red and HEA: Star Wars Visions; High School tMtS; Teen Beach 2; Skyrunners; Moana music video with Lin-Manuel.

Jordan Fisher spotted at D23....HEA announcement coming?!?

;)

Do we count this as real proof??? Or, could he be there for a number of reasons??
As others have said, Jordan Fisher is a "Disney guy." Seeing him would be like seeing Josh Gad or Jon Favreau. He could be there for one of a hundred different reasons, including that he just thought it would be fun.
