Disney Ducks- Do they annoy you?

I feel sorry for the ducks! With all the food people insist on feeding them at the parks, it's amazing you don't see them dying in the middle of WDW all the time.

I was totally appalled on my most recent trip at the number of parents who encouraged their children to feed ducks pizza, shrimp, fries, etc. The worst two were the parents who said "Oh honey, don't feed the ducks until you finish your food first." She said she wasn't hungry and thye were like, "Oh, okay, just let the ducks have the rest then (she was eating pizza and fries!) The other worst was a parent who was yelling at his crying son, who was afraid of the ducks, because the son would not feed the ducks out of his hand! I believe the dad was feeding him Doritos. Had a pretty difficult time keeping my mouth shut with that one!

Sounds like the real free dining promo runs all year then...you just gotta dress like a duck to take advantage!

Those would be rodent traps. They must be working though because I've yet to see a single rat. Now a Mouse, yes. :animwink:

I saw one once - we were leaving animal kingdom and I saw one run from the coffee stand to the tip board - if it would have been there about a second longer I would have been screaming! By the time I registered what it was it was gone! Phew!

I don't mind but my wife hates birds in general. We can't even go into any of the aviary areas at zoo's or Animal kingdom for that matter because she freaks out. With that being said we were eating at the flame tree last year and were getting swarmed with ducks walking under our table and demanding food. We wouldn't give them any and i think they can sense fear or something cause they kept going for my wife and one actually pecked and bit at her leg. She screamed and everyone looked at us. I just kept eating like nothing happened.

I've been bitten by the ducks at Flame Tree a few times - it doesn't hurt or anything, just weird to think "Hey, that duck is biting me!" :lol:

I absolutely love the ducks. I think it's great to watch them walk around, and just totally be relaxed and normal. My wife probably gets as much of a kick out of the ducks as she does the attractions. She could walk around Disney all day with her camera, and only end up taking pictures of ducks.

My family and I were eating al fresco by Stormalong Bay at the Beach Club during a break from Epcot, and we were visited by a haggle of ducks. The way they begged for food and moved around our chairs reminded me of our dog.

I would hate to see the size of those rodents then because those traps are pretty big!

I adore the ducks in WDW! MY Boyf and I made friends with a pair outside Sleepy Hollow, who we affectionatly nick-named Hoisin Sauce and Crispy Pancake!

I LOVE the ducks and I am one of the rule breakers who feeds them a bit of popcorn from my hand. They are just so darn cute!
