Disney Dream Coming True!!

So every year that we go to Orlando, we say - we'll have to give it a miss next year and save for the year after and then everytime, i manage to persuade my family to go back again!! As we're from London and go for 3 weeks it works out to be a pretty expensive vacation.. Especially with all the Disney merchandise and malls / outlets etc!!

This year, i was really scared we wouldn't actually get back but looks like i've worked them round to another trip!! We're hoping to book flights (which i have found at a great price, but with a stop over in Charlotte - my name!!) this weekend, and are hoping to go from 4th - 26th October - right in time for the EPCOT 30th Anniversary and the Food & Wine Festival :)

I'm just so excited and had to tell people :)

Anyone else get this crazy excitedness before a trip?! Disney is so important in my world lol

Lotti,

Excited - you bet. We've been some 40 times and go every year at least once. I still get excited as we get closer to leaving. We drive and when we cross the border from Georgia into Florida I get goose bumps. This year we're going for my 70th birthday in August and our sons and their families will be joining us so I'm already getting excited. There is nowhere I'd rather be than at Disney World.

Haha that really made me laugh!! Sorry to boast.. But i do love it!! You should stay an extra week, and just say you were having so much fun that you don't know where the time went - how can people be mad at you then!?

Also, not sure if it's an American thing, but please could you explain what DW is? Is it something like Darling Wife? I've seen it a lot and have been trying to figure out for ages what it means haha.

Also, if you could make it mid-late September now, i would be most grateful - i don't even mind missing my Birthday if it means holiday comes sooner!! :)

I totally get your excitement. I'm leaving in 25 days for a quick trip with my mom (her first visit!), but was a little bummed that DH & I would not be doing our usual week long trip this year. We had been trying to figure out what to do during our vacation week in September and two nights ago we did some math, looked at our current finances and booked a Disney trip!! We booked our room, airfare and 6 of the 7 nights dinning reservations in the span of about an hour and a half. I'm beyond excited :sohappy:

Wow! I think I live in the wrong place! Who gets a 3 or 4 week vacation? I'm lucky to get a week off every year! I must say I'm a tad bit jealous!!

I know the feeling of trying to convince the family to go. My husband is much better at seperating himself from Disney than I am when we are not there. However, the second we get off the plane in Orlando he's a like a kid in a candy store and all of the sudden I am the logical one. It's weird, but it works. He spends all year arguing that we shouldn't be spending money on a Disney trip and it should be put into savings, etc. etc. etc. I spend the whole trip saying "you don't need another t-shirt, you don't need a lanyard, you don't need mickey crocs, etc. etc. etc." It's actually kind of funny,

Have a fun time! We leave in 40 days and I can't hardly stand it!! :sohappy:

Holy smokes three week trips!? Man am I jealous. That would be a dream come true. I get excited that we get ten days for our vacations! Someday hopefully :animwink:. Three weeks in October will be phenomenal. We went last October and were able to experience food and wine for the first time. It truly is worth the hype and was amazing. Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party was a blast and it was so refreshing to walk on rides with never having to wait!

Thanks for all the great comments and advice everyone - but my family will not be pleased as you're just adding to my excitement!! 8 months of me in their ears about going, watching over our vacation videos, planning what we'll do etc :)

Also, thanks for clearing up the DW confusion :)
