Disney does it again

I don't think it is. The entire show is about the telling of His birth. "Do You See What I See", "Silent Night", "O Holy Night" are all religious in nature and reflect the true meaning of Christmas. To make it totally generic, you would have to replace all the songs with Rudolph, Frosty, etc. and have the celebrity narrator recite Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Good Point; however, is this a start?

Remains to be seen. I would like to think no, given the increase in the number of Dining Packages sold. As long as that wave of green keeps flowing, why mess with it?

But then again, this is Disney. And they have been known to make some real head scratching decisions.

Seems we have gone a little off-topic.

The show is about the birth of Jesus. Whether you believe or not, it has become so popular that they are having crowd control and timing issues. Having seen the show many times over the years and having my daughter sing in the choir for four years, I loved the show the way it was. It has become a tradition for many during the holiday season, and I suspect that most of us who have made it a tradition want it to stay the way it was for many years. Lately the WDW mangers have done these edits for crowd control and timing purposes. Shortening Country Bear Jamboree, is one example. New and Improved is not always the case. I sure hope they don't mess up the Festival of the Lion King Show when it moves to its new building in 2014.

Fine - everyone can work on Christmas , no one will make mention of Kwanzaa people will not have any flexibility during Ramadan and we'll just cancel the holidays. While we're at it then we'll get rid of Santa because there's no more Christmas to Celebrate. And we'll get rid of the Easter Bunny because there is no more Easter.

Kwanzaa is not a religious holiday, it is a cultural holiday.

Yes. The show IS a tradition for many.

This change is disappointing.

And would that be a bad thing?,

I know I'll go to midnight services on Christmas eve but I'll be working Christmas day because we are working on a project with a hard deadline and because my team is exempt none of us will get a extra dime or another day off in exchange for working Christmas day. For me this is OK as adults in our family no longer exchange gifts - we of course have them for the kids As adults we decided that exchanging gifts just drives the orgy of consumerism and we don't agree with that on both religious and personal points of reference.

Christmas is to commemorate the birth of Christ and it is just another feast day on the calendar, It was first celebrated in 354AD and the Christmas tree came from St Boniface in the 8'th century as a tool to convert the pagan tribes of Germany.
