I have actually seen coke bottles used as an insulator in some third world situations.
Disney is usually very accurate in the props they use but they did make a mistake in the details here. The primary (high voltage) connections on top of the transformer are connected to the same wires as the secondary (low voltage 120/240) connections. FLASH BOOM!!! Not very many people look closely at these details, but a picky old retired utility engineer does.
