Disney Cruise Line Excursion Reviews

I thought it would be helpful if we had some guest reviews for excursions. So whenever you get back from a Disney cruise, come share with us and help your fellow cruisers out! Even if you explored the port on your own and not through Disney, let us know how it was. Every time someone posts a review, I'll link to it in the first few posts. I only included a departure port if Disney offers any excursions there.

When you post, only put one review per post. That will make them easier to link.

As always, you get bonus points for pictures! :)

Here's where to find the links:

Getaway Package - May of 2009

This package includes all day snorkel equipment, one hour with the bikes, and a float rental. We thought it was a great deal, and definitely worth the price. If you plan to do all three activities, you'll save a little money booking them this way. I had read that some people thought it was tough to do all three things, but we had plenty of time to enjoy all of them. We snorkeled in the morning, rode bikes after lunch and then used the floats in the afternoon.

I would definitely do it again!

The Wildside Teen Adventure - March of 2012

I, not being a teenager, obviously did not participate, but my teens did! They all enjoyed it. It's a great bargain. It's currently $35 for snorkeling, kayakkng and biking. The fact that it's just teenagers only added to the fun I'm sure. The meeting time was early for teenagers, but at least it gets them out of bed! :)

They also all received a drawstring backpack to keep their stuff in. Here's a picture of the bag:

The Doubloon Turtle Cove Sail and Snorkel - May of 2009

We all loved this excursion. We first sailed out to Turtle Cove on a large motorized sailboat. It took about 45 minutes to get there. When we arrived, we got on our snorkel gear, which was provided, and snorkeled off the side of the boat. The water was clear and the sea turtles were awesome. The crew snorkeled with us and pointed out turtles and other sights. After about an hour and a half of snorkeling we got back on the boat and sailed back to the Magic. On the trip back the crew broke out coolers full of drinks and passed around chips and salsa. They also came around and gave us each temporary pirate tatoos.

It was excellent and we would definitely do it again.

Here's the boat from the water:

Coral Wold and Coki Beach - February of 2005

We did these two on our own. We caught a taxi when we got off the ship for the scenic ride across the island. We made one stop for pictures at the top. We started off in Coral World which I have heard described as a small Sea World. That's giving it way too much credit. It was actually fairly small, but there were some very neat marine animals and exhibits.

After Coral World, we headed to the Coki Beach which is right next door. This beach was fairly small but picturesque. The waves were crazy. About every 5 minutes one woud go all the way up to our chairs and try to claim anything that was on the ground. We had to rescue flip flops a couple of times until we learned it wasn't a fluke. The waves were fun though, and the kids had a great time playing in them.

Mammoth Waterfalls and Zipline - May of 2011

We started off on a bus ride to a small mushing camp where we were offered a restroom stop and a quick look at the dogs. Then we boarded a special 4x4 open air vehicle for a ride up to base camp. At base camp we met our guides and got our gear on. We started off on a small training line and then we were off! We traversed through the forrest on ziplines and suspension bridges. We had a few people in our group who were afraid of heights but no one had any problems. We all felt very safe and had a great time.
