I am going on a cruise on the Dream in February 2015. I read a few places that the Princess Gathering is a ticket-only event. Does anyone know when it typically is on the Dream? I read that the personal navigator doesn't list it.

That's correct. The princess gathering is now a ticketed event. It's been this way for several months. Go to guest services your first day onboard and request tickets. They probably will run out at some point that first day.

On our cruise, generic princess photo was not hard ticketed, only Frozen was.

The princess meet and greet was hard ticketed back in September on the Dream for us, and on the Magic in November. When was your sailing MaryJaneP? The change was announced several months ago so it's interesting that yours wasn't!

Yes the Frozen meet and greet is ticketed. I know that is was being held in the Animators palate. You have to sign up for it on board and they give you a ticket that shows your time to meet them. They mentioned the Princess gathering and that is held in the atrium with approx. 4 different princesses and no ticket is needed for that.

Just called DCL to confirm my info was correct and they told me that it is still two different experiences. I cannot confirm that it is still in Animators palate. It was on my last cruise on the Fantasy.

Maybe I wasn't clear. They are two different experiences. Both need tickets. Anna and Elsa are not doing meet and greets on the Dream.

Here is my ticket for the princess gathering back in September on the Dream:

The new tickets look more like excursion tickets and are not nearly as pretty, FYI.

Several recent Navigators (from all four ships) confirm that the princesses (and Anna and Elsa if you aren't on the Dream) are hard ticket meet and greets. Here is an example from December 12th on the Dream. Look on the right side on the front page:

This wasn't the case when I was on the Fantasy. I only needed it for the Frozen meet and greet. From what I do know it was going to be varied by ship. Hopefully they will all be on the same page soon so they offer both the Princesses and Anna and Elsa.

Pam

I got a picture with Anna when she first started appearing on the Fantasy, no Elsa.

She was totally in character when I asked her where Elsa was, she said that she was in Arendelle doing her "Queeny thing".

The Wonder started in the last weeks of the Alaska cruise on this year too(2014).

The need to get Anna and Elsa on the Dream sometime between now and June...

Thanks for the clarification on the princess m&gs. They will be a priority for us come June. Please keep us up to date on any changes between now and then. We have met all the princesses in the parks many times over by now. But my youngest will want to meet as many as possible on our cruise all the same. Anna and Elsa especially.

Can youngest read Navigator? If yes, consider hiding it. If no, you may be safe as long as youngest doesn't hear from other kids about an Anna and Elsa event. Either way maybe an ipod/mp3 player with headphones and an endless loop of "let it go" could distract youngest.

Lol. She's already asked if Anna and Elsa were on the boat. I told her there will be princesses but there's no way to know who. We've already met Anna and Elsa, so if they are a no-show it's no big deal. But princesses will need to be met at some point. If A&E are on board by then, so much the better.

@Disneyfalcon I have a few questions for you, first I wasn't aware that you need special tickets to meet princesses, I read above, is there any thing else you need special tickets for to do? I would hate to miss out on some thing because I was unaware. Also I have a question about the kids club. My DD will be 2 1/2 months old during travel, she is toilet trained already and is very advanced for her age, will they allow her to be in the 3 and up club? Or will I still have to do the Small world one? Help??!! Please and Thank you!

Hi Disneydreamer!

It varies by cruise. I always recommend reading the personal Navigator they give you in the terminal ASAP. The ticketed experiences are listed in there. For holiday cruises there will be things like gingerbread houses, longer cruises may have special teas, and all cruises will have tastings and mixology classes. So read the Navigator and see what is offered on your cruise so you don't miss anything! Some of the tickets will go very quickly.

The answer to that is a very firm maybe. She must be completely potty trained and she has to be able to do everything herself, because the counselors can't help. If she was within 2 months of being 3 it's usually fine. 2 1/2 is a little bit harder. Lately they seem to be a little stricter about the ages. Take her to the kids club the first day. They'll talk to her and see how well she communicates and they'll ask you questions about her potty training. They'll also take into account the number of children onboard already registered for the club. Then they'll decide.

Good luck!

I need to know what time WDW resort guests typically arrive at Port Canaveral via DCL bus transfer from their resort? Will need to choose a port arrival time at online check in and I'm not sure what to select. What is the EARLIEST time the buses arrive at PC?

They generally start arriving around 12:30 from Walt Disney World resorts. You are on Disney transfers so your port arrival time will not affect what time you actually arrive, it will determine what boarding number you receive. By that time the port will be in open boarding (meaning they aren't calling boarding numbers anymore) and you should be able to walk right on after checking in.

Anna and Elsa are now on the Dream. Wait times of up to an hour were reported to get tickets.

An hour to get tickets?!? We're sailing concierge. Any chance they can grab those for us without the hour long wait? If so, that's money well spent.

Thanks for the tip all the same. I am glad they are on the boat at least. I suspect I'll be waiting in line if need be. I assume that I can pick them up for the girls without everyone needing to be present... *fingers crossed*

Hopefully that will calm down. Normally I would say yes, concierge can do it, but they couldn't get ours for us in September. Definitely ask though. You can pick them up without everyone there.
