I would like to go to Palo's for dinner with my husband and my inlaws. We have 5kids ranging in ages 10-16. Ver respectful, mostly girls. Is it ok to send them to dinner on their own?

You bet. We gave our teenage boys the freedom to choose if they wanted to hit up the main dining room, walk-up, buffet, or room service. They had planned to do the main dining room which hubby and I ended up joining them instead of our reservation because I didn't feel quite up to par. It all worked out but we started out giving then their own choice of options. ;)

I honestly never thought of sending my parents to Palo and Remy for dinner while the brother and I hit up the main dining room. I should ask if they wanna do that.

We've never had a problem with sending the kids to the main dining room. I guess that's not true. We did have one server that was less than attentive, but the assistant server (Kendell) took great care of them. I think the servers like it when it's just the kids. They get to play around a little more without the grown-ups around.

Yeah - and remember.. your servers will be familiar with your kids too.. so there will be some 'oversight' and assistance there too. Plus.. you can just have them eat at the buffets/quickService too. At that age.. they should have no problem being on their own most of the day. Worst problem would probably be keeping the teen with the younger one vs running off with the other teens full time :)

My kids thought the time that they had to be by themselves was some of the best time on the ship. I never sent them to dinner by themselves, but thats a different story. They would go off and do things by themselves, and the independence they had made the vacation for them.

I agree. We sent our kids by themselves on night while we ate at Palo. We also had the benefit of being seated with an awesome family from AZ, so we had less to worry about. The excellent servers at our table also were very trustworthy and entertained the kids each night with various puzzles/riddles.

What are the food choices at Palo, is it really worth it over any of the other restaurants?
YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

Don't MAKE me break out my Palo pictures from Palermo!! :) Palo is an amazing dining experience from start to finish, whether you go for brunch or dinner. It's SO worth the $20 upcharge. You will not regret it, honest.
