How so? No liability for Disney to start its own localized ride share service. I seriously doubt the pricing would work like a traditional ride share. I see this more of a branded Disney taxi that operates through the My Disney Experience app.Disney would only do this as a contract with Uber (like Mears with Magical Express) to avoid any liability.
I wasn't aware that they'd go outside of Disney property. If so, then this is a wonderful utility.
Some people in the value resorts have been too.No Minnie Vans won't but some people who stay in the deluxe resorts have been using Uber to go around property.
I used Uber for the first time last trip as my non-monorail mode of choice. It beat waiting in an endless line last time for a bus. That's one area Disney really needs to improve - bus service is horrible. No Minnie Vans won't but some people who stay in the deluxe resorts have been using Uber to go around property.
There is the problem though. The busses should be absolutely adequate if they were properly staffed and utilized. Disney has the reservation info, they know where people are staying and now they know what people intend to ride and when. The fact that they're not using that data to make sure the busses operate smoothly as possible is a shame. With testing going on, I'm curious to hear what people think. The price may be a bit steep, but I bet people will pay it if it means getting to that early breakfast reservation at another resort.
I don't see how an Uber service would work - they already have free buses, monorails and gondalas going between all of the Disney parks and resorts, why would you pay $20 to go privately in a boring old, regular car.
Privacy and away from people who have poor personal hygiene.
I agree it is nice to be private, but you would only pay $20 instead of free transport if you were very rich, and the cars are boring compared to the monorail and gondolas.

Yes, people are willing to pay more, but they should definitely not have to pay more for transportation that is built into their resort costs.
I wish for your safety and the safety of your family you would stop using Uber they are not safe and are an extremely dangerous option. I have a friend who 2 years our has not yet recovered from being beaten and sexually assaulted by her Uber driver, and UBER background checks are a joke, I work for a medical courier and UBER is constantly hiring people that we reject due to criminal background.View attachment 156395 View attachment 156396 I just finished filling out a survey asking what I thought of Disney transportation. It asked if I used something like Uber while staying at the Grand (we did) and then asked a number of questions about if we would use a similar Disney branded service that went all over property and possibly to the airport. My thoughts are that I'd use it depending on price. We primarily used Uber to get to Epcot, the beach club, and Typhoon Lagoon. Used Disney transport for everything else, but if it was cheap enough and could pick you up in 5 mins or less anywhere like Uber does, I'd consider it. I'll see if I can post screen shots.
If WDW is looking for ways to stop UberDisney has a contract with Mears that gives them the exclusive right to pick up guests for a fare. Disney has trespassed hundreds of drivers for this. If they allow a driver to pick up on their property it puts them in violation of their contract and I can assure you they do take that pretty seriously. I used to manage tthe front entrance area of several of the resorts and I've been a part of many meetings and discussions where strategies have been brainstormed to stop Uber. It technically is solicitation even though it's done through an app. They a while back specifically put up "no soliciting" signs at each resort entrance so that they would have some extra legal ground to stand on when they catch them.
At least you don't live in Kalamazoo.I wish for your safety and the safety of your family you would stop using Uber they are not safe and are an extremely dangerous option. Yes, but my family is not worth the risk to me and these attacks are in the news more and more and UBER and LYFT will hire anybody I know of people that they have hired who have DWI, theft charges, and 1 confirmed I know of the just hired is a registered sex offender.
At the risk of indulging a completely off-topic post, I'm sorry your friend had an unfortunate experience, but I and dozens of people I know, men and women of all ages and races, have used Uber both on property and in several separate metro areas from coast to coast dozens of times with zero incident.
