Hmm, I'm really not sure that putting the Muppets in a coaster that goes upside-down and having it as the only Muppet attraction really makes sense. Even Guardians doesn't go upside-down and that's aimed at an older crowd. Maybe there are plans to redo segments of the track, but, I doubt it.
Methinks the people saying that a chaotic thrill ride is off-brand for The Muppets are not very familiar with The Muppets at all.
A family thrill ride works, but upside-down track segments are kind of a big hurdle, imo.

This IMO is where Disney is a hard spot. While many want more attractions with little to no height requirement, the average guest shows different. If you look at what usually has the highest waits, it's not just new attractions but coasters or those with some thrill.

Rock 'n Rollercoaster has a 48" height requirement. Based on average heights, this makes it accessible to 6-7 year old children.

Even ignoring the false notion that The Muppets are aimed at kids (they aren't and never really have been), there still isn't reason for concern. Unless we're not counting 6 year olds as children now.

I think this is much less of an issue than 3 to 4 year olds not being able to ride the new Tiana ride. Had to watch my recently turned four year old daughter throw a fit that she couldn’t ride with her mom, brother and I while she stayed back with her grandma. Is it a huge deal in a park full of attractions for young kids? Not really. But does it suck when it happens to you and your little girl can’t go on the ride she knows is about a princess/ movie she likes. Yes.

Frozen,, Ratatouille and Midway Mania do have some physical thrill to them.
Sure…. So does pirates. I’m not sure what physical thrill rat has though? I like it but I wouldn’t say thrill.

And runaway railway has like 1% more thrill than Winnie the Pooh haha / edit - I can’t read. You said midway mania - oops!

yknow, I always had my own other non electric mayhem muppet rnrc retheme in my mind: “The Great Gonzo’s Stunt Coaster”. The story would apparently go, you are invited on a tour of the muppet movie studio, while they are filming their latest movie: an action flick starring gonzo the great. During the preshow however, gonzo walks in all battered and bruised, saying he got injured in a stunt, and needs some stunt doubles to take his place for the next scenes. “How about those guys” ensues, and the whole story of the coaster portion is you are taking gonzo’s place as a stunt double, and you would be flying through fake city sets.

It has a bit of spinning. My point is your average guest wants some physical thrill on a ride now.

How else do you explain them adding more rides with some thrill over long slow dark rides.

I actually don’t remember it spinning but I’ve only been on it twice so far.

I think almost any ride, by definition, has some level of physical “thrill” with a few exceptions like small world, Mexico boat and Pandora boat.

Even the people mover has moments of acceleration and tight curves.

I feel like the muppets are ideal for a family ride / attraction that all members of the family can enjoy together. I think having the muppets takeover rock n roller coaster is a fun idea - but it’s not something I can enjoy with my mom, like the muppets 3d show.

Lots of discussion on proper theme, story, location, but this is one thing and one thing only from Iger and the board... How cheaply can Disney create and market some new cash grab? They don't care about theme/story or even quality to a point really anymore and that has been shown. At least not like they did. This is what you will get with Muppets Rockin Rollercoaster...

New Signage
New Paint in Places
New Props & Records
New Queue Video
Painted Vehicles
New On Ride Show Flats
New Gift Shop Decor
If you are lucky, and don't hold your breath, you may get an animatronic or two at the launch point.

Corporate saw a way out of paying royalties. Legal saw a way out from Aerosmith troubles. Creatives forced into this move, but see keeping something muppets as a win. Pencil pushers saw this as a win for maybe 15 to 20 million (Probably 45 million in Imagineer money) in upgrades. They did the same for the Monster Inc land by choosing existing infrastructure over the correct thing to do. Rivers of America being the cheaper option too.

I understand it's a business. But it was a business 20 years ago, 40 years ago, and so on. No longer is this the company that creates projects with the mindset of "is the the best for the guests, quality and show" but more of the company that says "how much can we make, how cheap can we build it, and how much can we push guests".

There’s something more sinister sadly…. Ego.

There is a desire to replace as much as possible - rip out the heart and soul of the parks. Idk if Iger liked all the praise he got for the DCA redo or what.

Tbh when I rode RnRC as a kid I didn’t even know there was an upside-down track in the ride, and someone had to tell me about it to make me realize that was my first ever inversion.

But that aside, inversions look scary but really aren’t. The scariest part of Incredicoaster definitely isn’t the loop, and the one on Indiana Jones/Raging Spirits is crazy tame.

All they really have to do to add a Muppet experience for kids is put Muppet Babies in the Disney Jr Dance Party. No good reason why that hasn’t happened yet.
Maybe because Muppet Babies averaged less than 3/4 of a million viewers per episode and no kid would recognize the characters, as opposed to say Bluey?
