As someone who has been fearing the closure of Muppet Vision 3D ever since D23, I am actually shockingly quite okay with this announcement. Muppets are a great addition to RnRC and Aerosmith has shown its age. Sad to see MV3D go but I have hope it can go elsewhere. And as much as I adore MV3D, Muppets courtyard is such a depressing place. Monsters will improve this area 100%.

And for those who are upset: have faith. Disney knows the long game. When they replace Animation courtyard with Zootopia or Marvel (not Simpsons, please) then DHS will be an awesome park. Still think they need more B and C ticket rides though.

Kermit won't attract a crowd like Steven Tyler. We were in the gift shop in 2012 at the ride exit and many fellow guests lined up the long hallway to exit into the courtyard. Cast advised that Tyler and his young lady friend would exit soon after riding and enter the gift shop which they both did and we saw them look at some shirts and leave, smiling throughout to the cheering crowd.

I dunno, tell me the Swedish Chef is about to get off a ride and I'll wait all day.

Looks like it’s the end of the Mup…….Oh no! Forget it! I’m not going there! Sure, I’m worried for the future of the Muppets, but I don’t want to go doom and gloom like that grifter, WDWPro! I guess putting the Muppets on RRC is better than nothing!

Closure of MV aside, I’m not really getting all the negativity for RnR starring Muppets. Sounds like it has the potential to be cool and is an infinitely preferable option to what it could have been.

I’m also curious if this was the plan from the beginning or if all the insider back and forth post-D23 was indicative of them actually struggling with what direction to take this.

I like this, there is the history of the Muppets interacting with celebrities. This way they can rotate whatever band is popular right now with a little film segment interacting with the Muppets and use it in the preshow.
Exactly. The pre-ride show could be a digital interview with a musician. Then the muppets “take you to the concert”. The musical soundtrack is provided by the guest. Endless possibilities! And if they prerecorded a bunch of interviews with musicians, the ride experience could be random each time.
