I am really curious about how much mold is in the ride building...if anything, a major gutting would be interesting to see
My last ride I tried to see if any mold was visible but didn't notice any. One thing I did notice is that the music audio in the Viking scene seems completely off or just broken. Guess they felt they didn't have to bother considering what they're doing :(

Edited my post to add that! I liked the ride too, but I don't want to pretend its a great ride.

The bakery. That's about it. Akershus is already just princess dining.
And the bakery is disposable, as is the seating area next to it....

om gosh, just picturing a hot summer with un happy parents waiting with screaming kids just trying to get around the area, let alone waiting stand by..

:joyfull:
The best we could hope is that it becomes a guest relations nightmare and then management sits around saying "what were we thinking"?!?!?!

This will be an overlay. The rumor suggests that the ride will be reversed. A reversed-track ride through would certainly change things up a bit. The key to making the attraction's ride-time longer will likely be frequent stops at projected show scenes which also serve to maximize the small real estate of the Maelstrom's show building.

I can't imagine them doing anything more than an overlay. "Cheap" solutions win every time.

some thoughts:
complaint emails to staggs are being forwarded on to TDO. just got a phone call, I think they are well aware of complaints and seem to be contacting people quickly as some others have reported here. I was assured that while the announcement was vague and its still early, Norwegian architecture and merch and Norwegian revelance would not be going away, and exact plans for the ride itself are really not yet known (which we knew that part), but maybe just maybe Imagineering will hopefully keep a Norwegian atmosphere/design into the ride. And I made it very clear that the ride should be something along the lines of a tour through Norway presented by the frozen characters, not just the fictitious arendelle. Do I dare say maybe we should give Imagineering a chance as much as I dont want a frozen ride in that space either?

Im going to try and find out more this week from Norway from the group who was involved in last months meetings, maybe now that Disney officially said its coming they will give me more info and their thoughts.
As much as all this ticks me off, Im trying to retain some positivity, because even with the frozen replacement of Maelstrom, Norway was still promised that the Norwegian would not be erased, and no I dont just mean the sad little bakery.

Whether or not comments and feedback do get passed on who knows, probably not, but I feel this is a little different and since it is still early, now is the time to let them know and maybe in the end they will have taken some things into account.

What we didnt have a chance to discuss was the crowd control issues, thats still going to be a biggie.

I teach in an elementary school. We have had multiple days of heat index days where the students cannot go outside for recess when the heat index is over 105. The past two weeks we have had multiple days of indoor recess because of this. The students have two choices when the gym is not available for indoor play. Choice one is free time in the library....computers, chrome books, or reading. Choice two is watch a movie in the multipurpose room. We went through a phase where Frozen was THE movie of choice. Now, we cannot get the kids to pick Frozen...except for the Kindergarten classes. The Fourth and Fifth grade classes have been over it longer than the younger classes. But, even now Second and Third are on the anti-Frozen bandwagon.

Now, I am sure we will still see lots of little Anna and Elsa costumes at Halloween. But we see more Sophia the First backpacks and lunchboxes vs. Frozen. Not sure how this will play out in a year and a half. For children....that is a LONG time and lots of new things will have come into their lives by then.

I really appreciate all the information you give on this subject but I just can't share your optimism. To me they just don't belong, even as tour guides. I'll take Vikings and Trolls in Norway any day.

If they change the ride to make frequent stops the wait times will skyrocket. The capacity is already very low and then adding stops will just make it a nightmare.

as would I, but I would take them giving a tour of Norway than just a basic movie storyline through arendelle.
