Disney Closes and then reopens Rock 'n' Roller Coaster After Rider Falls Ill

We were on line at RNR when they shut it down...it was a bummer because we had wasted our fastpass...now I find out it was because some guy got sick hours later !?!? That's effin great...

Thanks to the media for browbeating Disney into having to treat any illness of any person at Disney as a major investigation...

 :zipit: :hurl:

No where in the article does it day he is suing.... And no where did he blame Disney or Rock N Roller Coaster... As always, maybe all the facts need to be heard BEFORE attacking this guy, the media, and the ride itself.. Haven't we learned anything yet???

Possibilty: Only ride he was on was Rock N Roller Coaster... felt funny after riding it, got completely ill 3 hours later... When asked what is activities for the day or what rides he was on, he stated RNRC... Therefore, Disney did the right thing, shut it down, inspect it quickly, and reopen when nothing was found wrong.... Disney did its due dilligence on this one....

Possibility: Heat, hunger, food poisoning could all be factors...

Let's stop the blame game people...

I can see it at Disney Administration -

"Someone got sick after riding Rock 'n Roller Coaster."

"Are they alive?"

"Yes....some old guy got sick 3 hrs after riding."

"Three hours? You gotta be kidding. Okay shut the ride down."

"Really?"

"Yeah...shut it down for a few hours. Suit up some CP'ers...run them into the attraction. Make it look like they're inspecting the ride....then open it back up."

"You got it boss."

I suspect the guy felt sick and while he was being attended to, he mentioned that he started feeling sick after riding RnRC.

At that point, Disney had an obligation to make sure that the ride was operating properly and safe for other guests. Can you imagine what would happen if there was a problem and someone died later that day. During discovery, the plaintiffs would find out that Disney had been placed on notice hours before of a potential problem and did nothing about it.

I know it is overkill, but I can't blame them for overreacting

But if every time someone felt sick they did that, it would never be open. I had a relative who went on MS and was sick the rest of the day, in the nurses office, but they didn't close MS that day....

Does anyone know how long the ride was actually closed for? A short delay for safety's sake is not a big deal. People should not blow something like this out of proportion!

Not to speak poorly of the victim's health here, but can you honestly blame the coaster for the illness? A few years ago I got sick about 5 minutes after getting off the ride and then proceeded to the friendly confines of a nearby bathroom. I didn't blame the sickness on the ride, but the lengthy meal that I had devoured from the 50's Prime Time Cafe a matter of minutes prior to riding the Rockin' Roller Coaster. In other words, I hope the man gets well soon and makes a full recovery.

"Hey I got a great idea...how 'bout some backstage passes?"
