Actually, it's considered to be "Adam" according to The Official Disney Encyclopedia by Dave Smith. "Vincent" was the name of the Beast in the '80s television series Beauty and the Beast. Beauty's name in that version was Katherine.

Gonna be an anti Disney fan here, I guess, lol. I HATE the name Adam for Beast. It just doesn't sound French enough. and I am not a fan of the 'lets make an expanded universe and explain every Disney character'. then again, when I was a kid, my beast doll that turned into a prince was named Greg so ... go figure, haha
