I believe the source was a news conference involving Sony, RCA, Panasonic, Samsung, and Toshiba simply stating that Disney has decided to purchase Universal 'Remotes" for most of it's resorts. . .

No chance. That would be such major news and would have been in discussion in publice view for weeks.

While I agree, we will never see it happen, it's not really a "no chance".
Remember, Disney came very close to buying Universal back in 1989/1990. Eisner admitted that if the price was a little lower, they would have definitely bought them out.
