Disney blowout vacation

Hi all,
I have recently come into some money and want to have a really great free for all with the family at Disney. We have been before and have always stayed at the Poly. I guess my question is ..If you could go to Disney with a $30,000.00 budget and stay for 16 days what would you do different from your regular visits? Odd question I know.....but I really want my wife and kids ( 8 and 13) to have a blast. We did have a great time last summer for much less money but I thought I would throw it out there to get some ideas. We will be going in June of 2007.
Thanks

I think a great way to ensure that they'll have a blast is to sit everyone down and ask them what they'd like to do. I'm sure the kids would love having an input. Maybe take the Keys to the Kingdom tour? That's something different I've always wanted to do.

Brilliant...and Canadian
In the Parks
No
Some things to consider:

Premium APs
Concierge at the Polynesian
Tours [note that a lot of the tours have age restrictions]
Premium Plan [I'm not sure the exact name, but it covers all dining, La Nouba and various golf and other leisure activities]

Think of things you've never done and give them a try. I will definitely recommend La Nouba.

Wow! Such a lovely dilemma!!

I would definitely split your stay. Spend one week at the AKL, concierge level (do the special safaris etc.) and then spend another week either in a CR Tower room (with MK view, of course! ) or at the GF.

The other thing that would be great to do would be to get the premium package. That way, any of the tours (like the one Rora mentioned) would be included, along with ALL of your food (three TS/day if you so desire), tickets to La Nouba etc. Plus, with the Concierge level service at both resorts, you'd have a dedicated trip planner who would help you make the "most" of your packages and help you decide where to spend your money!!

Of course, should you wish to have your own private tour planner, I would be more than happy to volunteer for a nominal fee!! :lookaroun

if i had money to burn i would:
stay at the CR in a tower room with the best view of MK (hopefully i wont have to wait long even if its for a couple of days)
buy a DVC
do whatever i wanted like go on tours

if nothing like this ever happened i wouldnt be dissapointed coz i love staying at the all stars so no matter what money i had i would probably extend my trip there coz i love everything about them (even the buses):)

I would take a family that would otherwise not be able to afford to go at all. I really wish I had the money to do that. We have friends who will not likely ever be able to go....

Get the Grand Plan. Or at least that is what ther were calling it. I think it is a better version of the gold key of years past. Ahhhhhhh....The Gold Key.....Those were the days.

i prolly couldnt' tell my son that i had the money or else he make me go to every single disney park in the world, stay 2 weeks each, and get the all expense paid stuff! lol

i'd take a train from cali to florida, including the sleeper car so that meals and private accomdations and a daily newspaper is included (about a week ride). I'd fly home first class on my return trip.

i'd rent a limo for the whole visit two weeks. how much do they run? $2k for full time duty? i'm just guessing... so maybe i'll save some duckets and just limo it from the amtrak train station, to the resort, and then to the airport to go home :D; and pay full fare for a taxi to the grocery store and other offsite parks ...

i would stay in the suite at Beach Club (!!!!),

get that top food inclusive disney plan,

stay 2-3 weeks and enjoy not only the resorts, but also universal and sea world.

i would do every darn thing on that property from the horse back riding to the race driving to the espn zone (and i don't even like sports!).

i'd get a spa massage every 3 day...

i'd shop like hell, then, pay for all the stuff to be shipped back home!

i'd buy the best darn walkie talkies that work anywhere on the property, or, buy my son a cell phone so that we can keep up with each other if we get lost (most likely won't get lost, but, YOU NEVER KNOW)

i think i would try and take my most common and / or irritating annoyance about disney travel and try to buy a way around it (lol)

try and bribe the company in letting me buy first row seating to all shows and parades (without the lines) and buy a fast pass to all rides (whether they have one or not) to avoid standing in ANY line.

i would still wait in line for the foods (i wouldn't be THAT MUCH of a brat)... lol

In the early 80's, my parents had a good streak in their business, and we stayed for a week in the presidential suite at the Contemporary. Now, that is an experience in itself. I would highly recommend it.

Knowing how money comes and goes, I would consider investing in the DVC. We are members and we love it! That way, the 30K would be not for just a one time deal but for a lifetime of Disney fun! Your grandchildren will even ben able to enjoy it!

I'd say, yes, take them to WDW, but why plan to spend that much when you know they could still have a great time for far less? Why not spend a week at the resort of their choice, then treat another family to a trip, or donate the money to a worthy cause. There is so much need in this world; it just seems a bit selfish to have the means to help but do nothing. JMHO

Be careful when spending that much because your expectations will go up accordingly, and you may end up being disappointed!

If it were me I'd do a few different concierge rooms and then perhaps some of the tours. Also, you probably want to eat at the finer restaurants.

I think a trip is what you make it as long as you have a) Nice accomodations and b) good company
