Good Point, I forgot Feige is up for renewal this year. I don't know what Feige is seeing as his future career? Does he plan on being an Executive and Producer or just a Producer? Does he look to replace Horn with an eventual eye toward the Disney CEO job or does he go from studio to studio making movies?

A while back there were a lot of rumours about him moving to Lucasfilm given hes apparently a big star wars fan. The MCU is in a position where he could pass it off to someone else and I think it would mostly be fine he could remain on as a consultant or advisory to assist when needed. And Lucasfilm could certainly use someone with his experience. But I think he will renew at least through phase 4 given the collection of characters about to return.

Seth has previously stated that he is no longer in any day to day leadership capacity over anything at Family Guy or American Dad although he still provides several voices and produces both shows. He has put most of his effort into running The Orville and into developing new projects.

I have to imagine securing Seth is a top priority for Disney.

After losing so many producers to Netflix, I have to imagine Disney will be aggressive in keeping many of the remaining Producer-Director-Writer powerhouses under the Disney umbrella as possible. JJ, Favreau, Seth, Levitan should all be top priorities.

If they don’t secure 2-3 of those 5 they will look weak.

None of those are good choices on the television side. Why because none of them have shown the ability to develop, write, and produce multiple well received TV shows are the same time.

Steven Levitan's only hit television show is Modern Family. He isn't proven and hasn't had the ability to do multiple shows at once.

Seth McFarlane has had multiple hit shows but at the same time his level of consistency is off.

Favreau is so ingrained with Disney I don't know why that's a worry.

Lastly JJ wants a deal that only three studios can give him: Disney Universal or WB. The issue for all three will be on the video game development as Disney got rid of their game division while Universal is working on acquiring gaming companies as well as WB.

Disney should've focused on maintaining Shonda who actually was instrumental and given them multiple hits, Kenya Barris and Nam Khan who also gave them lots of hits as well.

Now they are going to lose Dan Fogelman who has a personality vendetta based on his experience working with Disney after his own huge hit show came out (This is Us)

If the initial appointment of Kathleen Kennedy, who used to be a TV Executive, to leading Lucasfilm is anything to base expectations off of, Iger will just pick any executive he has known for a long time for her replacement.
Wow, that is so wrong that either you're confusing her with someone else or you're buying into hate-mongering of the he-man woman-haters club.

Go wiki her.

Yeah I'll admit I didn't know until now how many other films she had produced. I just remember her being mentioned in the book Disneywar as a contact of Iger's, and Iger used to be head of ABC, hence why I thought she was a TV executive . That was pretty dismissive, I had no idea she had produced ET and Jurassic Park. I may have confused her with someone else.

I still think that when/if executives are shuffled around, it will boil down to someone Bob Iger has worked with in the past.

Honestly that is a lot to ask of anyone in their current role. I don't think we can expect Feige to hang on as long as Lassetter did (alleged groping notwithstanding), I would expect him to get another Disney position at some point in the future or move on to another studio.

He is enough of a nerd though, he could be content.
I wonder how much the whole terminating of James Gunn situation may factor in how Feige's negotiating goes. the haste in which that took place made it impossible to undo, but it was not Feige's decision and surely one that threw a wrench into his MCU outline.

It will most certainly be a factor and something he will bring up in contract negotiations and I wonder if he would ask for some sort of assurance that they wont make decisions like that ever again that go over his head.

I thought ABC Disney worked very hard to keep Dan Fogelman in the fold. What happened with him and Disney?

Mexico's telecom regulator is set to take up a vote on Disney's (DIS -0.9%) $71B deal to acquire the entertainment assets of Twenty-First Century Fox (FOX -0.3%, FOXA -0.3%) March 11.

That IFT vote isn't likely to be problematic after news that Disney accepted the idea of divesting Fox Sports in Brazil and Mexico.

That stance got Disney approval in Brazil last week after months of discussion.

The long-anticipated, $71.3 billion acquisition of most of 21st Century Fox will close “soon,” per Iger. Reports today have indicated that regulators in Mexico will vote Monday on the deal, which is understood to be the final obstacle to its completion. After spending most of 2018 planning for the combination of the operations, Iger said, “We’ll hit the ground running as soon as the deal closes.”

The cancellation of the Neighbors and Galavant and unsavory personalities pushed him to Fox. He felt Disney was stifling him and not appreciating his talents.

Also worth noting the article says Disney showed off some avatar 2 footage. they must be pretty damn confident theyll get final approval next week if they are claiming to own avatar 2 already.

Both shows got two seasons despite horrible ratings. But I totally understand how he could have been rubbed the wrong way by the whole situation. Honestly, I love much of what he creates but generally I think his tastes are better suited for streaming.
