Out of interest, how much does say a 7 day non-hopper ticket cost per day? For a US Guest?

I can’t look at those prices, it defaults to the U.K. pricing. For us, it comes out at roughly $66 per day. Although the best selling ticket by far is a 14 day ticket which is roughly $35 per day.

Adding the cost of this DAH ticket would make it $191 or $160 per day. Just wondering how that compares to the cost for you guys. Could it be that it appeals more to international guests? I think @MisterPenguin has a good point about offsite guests “buying EMH” as they do for EMM.

Or is it people who don’t have park tickets for that day who are buying this as a way to add on an extra day?

One of the greatest things I remember about E-ride nights was that you could only purchase them IN the park the day of, so you really only had to pay the extra $30 on top of the admission you'd already paid for to add an extra 3 hours to your day. Now you're basically paying the full day's admission PLUS the extra $30 and you only get access for 3 hours. Who in their right mind would pay that? That's REALLY expensive ice cream.......
I can eat a LOT of Mickey bars...

Hey, everyone, @Sirwalterraleigh thinks people who like 7DMT and would want to ride it more than once are somehow defective.

Just keep that in mind.

The ride is what it is. A “c”....come up with a compelling argument of how it far exceeds the barn stormer....or comes near bigger thunder, and we’ll talk
.
I’m not closed minded at all...I just don’t consider “my opinion is...” as indisputable fact.

Everybody’s got an opinion.

Your opinion is that people who like 7DMT don't have common sense... because you don't like it.

Fine. That's your opinion.

I never said that I didn’t like it. It’s what it is though.

Nor did I say that my opinion is a fact/can’t be changed. Make an argument

But you won’t...because it will be a waittime reference that changes nothing as far as quality.

Slinky had 120 waits before fastpass the other day...it’s better than mine train...in no way will it ever be worth a 2 hour wait for what it is.

It’s perception over reality and that’s what the consumers need to fight as paying guests...like AHM.

A chunk of the day for full price when the daily hours are shorter and demand is manipulated.

Hmmm. so let’s say for a 7 day trip, it would be over $200 for a whole day. And it would be cheaper to just add an extra day than “add on”just the DAH instead.

Which lends weight to the “offsite EMH” idea. For UKers, well our tickets are actually better value than the above screenshot suggests ( because ours are park hopper plus water parks plus MM). But even so, it still works out as within $20 or so of a pretty standard day ticket for you, so no amazing extra value that I can see.

But there are plenty of people who book things like the fireworks parties, EMM etc. I guess this is another “splurge” option for some people. The benefit is the far emptier park, and a way better option than EMM given you have most rides available.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m actually OK with the fact that some people choose to pay extra for emptier parks. I will be looking for similar possibilities for SW:GE for sure, so I won’t ever criticise people for the choices they make. But my idea of it being a cheaper “extra day” option has been shot through.

I don’t disagree with your take at all...on a certain level.

My only thing is what does it do for the trend in pricing?

It’s not good for you or me.

Spoke to a couple of tenured employees down there (20+ Years) who share my opinion: full “block” pricing is coming.

That is an iceberg moment...then you’re getting little for these prices, transport is a mess, disappointment will reign.

It will no longer be that place anymore. Whether you’re 5 or 85. That is a fact.

I can’t stop that...but maybe we all can. Gotta say “no” to something.

If we could say "no," would we be here?

I paid for it (going in Feb). I think it's an outrageous amount of money but we only go to WDW every 3ish years so for me it's worth it to get extra time in MK - especially extra time with minimal queuing.

We are from the UK so it's a long and expensive to go to WDW, and this is just a fraction of the cost of the whole trip. For comparison our trip is costing us roughly £27 per park hour (12 park hours in the day), so these extra 3 hours are roughly the same cost.

Do you know Ned starks saying about everything before the word “but”??

In the Parks
No
We loved this event so much last January (despite my husband being super sick at the time) that we just booked a room to go back in February. I know it's crazy expensive but it was so nice being in a park that empty. The plan is to fly in on Wednesday, do DAH Thursday, and get 2 day non-hoppers for Friday and Saturday (probably for Epcot and Animal Kingdom). In this instance, it really isn't that much different than buying a third day cost wise. And we can then spend the day at the pool, resort hopping, or at Disney Springs. So it all works out.

Also, because of the Party Nights, the regular nights are extra crowded.

Yeah, this announcement was a real bummer for me. I chose December 3 as our Magic Kingdom day because it had no MVMCP that night. Now they go and schedule this in a way that I could never have planned for and they screw up my MK day. No way I am paying an extra $250 for us to be in there 3 extra hours and it makes the 7-10 PM normal hours all the more crowed.
