Disney After Hours BOO BASH

This is absolutely insane! It will cost a single person up to $199/180 = $1.10 per minute to attend this 3 hour event! For a family of 5 they will be spending $5.55 every single minute. Who the hell can afford $1000 for a family of 5 to go to this pared-down "party"?

Many people can. And those that can't afford it will skip it and still have a great Disney vacation.

It will be ironic if you start being asked when exactly you were last actually at WDW. Maybe even by me.

Prices were bound to increase with the jump in labor costs. Econ 101.
I believe Martin has been more recently than the mid 80's . And i'm also sure he is aware of inflation and rising costs

Serious question JT, when did you last go to WDW? I’ve seen it referenced it might have been in the 1980s right after EPCOT opened. If so, why has it been so long? Was that trip that impactful that you became a huge fan of the parks?

I’m willing to pay for short lines at night. My wife and I were talking about how unpleasant MNSSHP was getting due to over-crowding. That wasn’t really worth $100 a head for an old (but fun) parade and crappy fireworks. $150 for short lines and trick-or-treating during a weekend getaway? Sure.
If you can afford it, sure. And if it's worth it to you, great.

For many, we've been paying for years for reduced experiences, which is why I regretfully will not be renewing my AP.

When you and others vote with your wallet, precedent is set. Disney will continue raising prices for everything, without increasing consummate value, or even retaining existing value. You yourself said earlier this a luxury. By voting "yes", Disney will continue to shift most of the experience, not just after hours and parties, to "luxury" clientele.

I’m open about it and the reasons why. October 2018.

Then 2019 we did Paris. Then we did Anaheim.

And then covid.

It helps I have countless friends in Orlando to keep me informed about things. I’m very lucky in that respect.

And your last visit was?

Get ready for a lot of price shocks when/if you are allowed to travel back to the states. 💲💲💲
There will indeed be price shocks. Disney will take advantage of the pent up demand caused by the pandemic and raise prices and say its to "reduce crowding to increase the safety of our guests"
