Disney After Hours BOO BASH

If that’s not for you, wait until next year and you can enjoy trick or treating with thousands more people crammed in during a longer event where most people waste their time in line to meet a character.
with more offerings

I know a lot of people pay for these after hours events for more ride opportunities but to me these events and Disney as a whole it’s about a lot more than that or a Mickey ice cream bar

It happened. Just like it does for parties. They set caps for dates and that’s that. They literally tell people to keep their $150 because the people who already paid are expecting low waits. And they are once again marketing those low wait times.
It’s just sad we now pay more to get a better ride wait experience after hours when basically free extra magic hours worked pretty well IMO

Disney sees an opportunity to get more money from us for the same experience just like the dining packages for better seats at shows like fantasmic which were first come first serve that worked just fine before.

Sure. I think back to E Ride Nights. What a gem!

It’s not hopefully. The cap is set. And that’s that. Disney After Hours is a premium “brand” for the parks that they won’t tarnish. They want these events year-round. They print money without impacting day guests. They are cherries on Chapek’s cash sundae.

Yes. I have been a big fan of these events for a long time. But I'm sure there is pressure to increase caps. That would be a mistake IMO.

Rather they would be better off creating more and varied events as so far the trend lines have indicated. And at all the parks. Including the water parks.

It would be great if there were after hour events 4 to 7 nights per week. IMO. That way they can still keep some parks each day with more traditional hours. 🎇🎆🎇

Yes, we should laud nightly fireworks August through Christmas this year.

Low crowds because of high prices for low offering. Just like this. But because there isn’t a Halloween party this year many may do this instead and therefore there won’t be low attendance like the others.

LOL. All kinds of things at Disney have been selling out for years even though the prices are obscene. Cinderella blue sweaters and special rose gold ears and fireworks dessert parties and expensive meals that aren't even all that good.

Whatever constitutes high prices for you isn't the same valuation others will give it.

Like, it's a no for me because it's too expensive for the hour or so we'd get before my kid would fall asleep. But for those who like to close the parks down it's perfect.

Maybe 'old news' by now, but i am posting this here regardless as i have not seen it posted plainly in this thread yet ...and i just skimmed though.

Boo Bash tickets go on sale to Disney Resort hotel Guests June 8th.

Tickets go on sale to the general public June 15th.

That is all....

If you compare the cost to a music concert, the tickets are downright cheap.

Exactly. I don’t get jealous of the people paying the big bucks to skip the lines on private tours. That’s not how we vacation. We value cherished memories in line with our children reminding them to knock it off, stand still, be quiet, stop hitting each other, and stop whining.

While the millionaires go on every ride in four days, we are busy making memories over 10 days!

Another comment i felt mentioning.....related to the recently released dates -

If you are like me and attending WDW's 50th kickoff on October 1st, the week you are likely in town there are no 'Boo Bash' Events happening.
Sept 24th and October 5th are the two dates for the After Hours Event happening during that week+ block, with nothing in between ( for obvious reasons...).

Just wanted to point that out to anyone there that week who was thinking of attending one of the 'Boo Bash' happenings.
You are outta luck....buy hey, you have a heck of a consolation prize!
Being there for the ACTUAL 50th Birthday of WDW i would say is the better 'perk'.

;)

I’m not sure why you are skeptical. That’s literally what DAH events are. Low crowds. That’s what they’re marketed as and what they’ve always been. If they wanted 25k people at $100-or-more a head, they would have brought back MNSSHP.

But this isn't an after-hours event... This is "how do we run the holloween parties with pandemic restrictions..." -- Let's call it what it is.

It’s not that. It’s “what kind of event are we comfortable offering during the end of a pandemic and start of our 50th celebration when we don’t want to cancel fireworks over half of the nights through Christmas?”

Those Moonlight Magic events were great! I really hope those come back again in the post-COVID era. I know many people aren't optimistic about any DVC perks coming back since they already have our money, but what DVC doesn't have is the money for unsold Riviera contracts or any of the contracts for other resorts that were bought back under their right of first refusal. So there are still people out there who need to be convinced to buy into DVC and not all of them will be hooked solely on the idea of long-term savings on Disney vacations and a DVC discount that isn't too different from an AP discount.

i’m glad you like them...

but even that is part of the scheme. They were selling park hours to DVC (predominantly APs) who wouldn’t spend more money otherwise. It’s all tied together.

if the hours we’re appropriate with the crowd levels and they hadn’t stopped reinvesting in the parks properly...those wouldn’t be necessary

Then you will be wrong.

This is an After Hours event not a party. Pricing and capacity reflects that.

The after-hours events offered limited availability, special offerings, and capped capacity for a short period.

This year they don't do a Halloween party - but instead offer a new offer, priced similarly, running similar dates/frequency with pandemic-related restrictions (live show, fireworks, parades all cut).

How do you not call this Party-lite? It's not like Disney just said... Hrmm... what's the next phase for our after-parties? You know darn well it probably was "Oh #$#$ how can we run our holloween and christmas profit wagons this fall with all this pandemic crap?" - and they figure out how to modify it and keep SOMETHING to sell.

It’s also...”what will they swallow?”

and that’s the problem...every time the consumers let their guard down...they end up with a lighter wallet

Bingo. Which is why everyone who has been to or wanted to go to MNSSHP this year is comparing it to that. Including the price and offerings
