Disney After Hours BOO BASH

people see the pros and cons… but its not inhuman to want the entertainment that has been available for over a decade in this slot, and now is gone.
You seem to have your head in the sand here. People understand its different events - but doesn’t matter what you call them, when you swap one for the other, the comparisons and expectations are unavoidable.

its literally running on the party’s spot.

Except people don't understand they're different events. People have referred to it as a "downgraded Halloween Party", which is different than saying "I preferred the Halloween Party to the After Hours event because I prefer an entertainment focused event".

People also claim the AH event offers less, while failing to understand or acknowledge it offers something different. Parties focus on fireworks, stage shows, and parades while AH focuses on attractions. Which event is better and which is worth more money is a matter of personal preference. I would never go to an AH event and complain I'm getting "less" because there are no shows. That's not why I would go nor is it what I was promised and charged for.

It's also not "literally" running on the Party spots. It takes place after park closing hours.

See my earlier pancakes at dinner post. You can give people pancakes… everyone agrees they are pancakes…. But people still expect dinner at dinner time.

this is pure denial. The hours are different so you are gonna ignore it’s literally running in the season schedule at similar cadence IN PLACE Of the party…. Even on halloween itself??

talk about splitting hairs to ignore the elephant in the room. It’s on the party’s cadence, in the party’s season, using the party’s theme. Starting 2hrs later doesn’t change that. It’s the replacement product in the original’s spot.

what other AH event has ever run on this kind of schedule and frequency? None. Where did this schedule and frequency come from??? You get one guess.

COVID has a lot of people "eating pancakes for dinner" as well as making all sorts of other adjustments. In my opinion, it's disingenuous to completely divorce the Boo Bash event from any reference to how it came to be and why WDW isn't running the usual Halloween parties. The stuff about people not knowing about what they are getting seems pretty much just a matter of semantics.

I reject that people “don’t know”….it’s 2021 - do 5 minutes of e-research before you input your credit card number

i also reject that TWDC wasn’t trying to make it sound the same…and at higher price…as the normal Halloween shenanigans when it’s less with disclaimers. Of course they’ll let you think whatever you want. This is a company that sells product. It is what it is.

MK closing at 10pm or 9pm starting mid July... don't count on that ever returning to days of old when they can get people to pay 150% ticket prices to have run at just a fraction of the park for those same hours.

EMH? buahah... we have 'after hours'.. credit card please...
And that is exactly what this is…from day one.
Encouraged in many ways by what people did with the Xmas/Halloween things from 2005-2015…

you lead the horse to water…it will drink

I agree with many of your points…but it’s beneath you to keep saying this.

they don’t extend the normal operating hours anymore based on the crowd levels…which they always did…and SELL this instead.

we can’t change it…but please stop on what is happening and why…

As a kid, my parents always took us to our church's Pancake Dinner during Lent. It was promoted as a Pancake Dinner and nobody showed up expecting steak.

But even after that, you still expected a full meal at dinner time... that's the point. You're hung up in the literal and missing the message.

What you put in front of someone doesn't redefine their expectations. Expectations for established things don't get overwritten just because you put something else in its place. Sure you know they are pancakes, and you eat them... that doesn't mean going forward you expect dinner to be a similar light meal going forward. You accept 'breakfast for dinner' as a twist - you don't redefine dinner in your head.

People are arguing people don't know it's a AH and hence should apply AH criteria to the event. People know it's a AH event - but they expect the fall to offer the kind of seasonal entertainment they have been conditioned to expect. And when it's not there, it doesn't matter if there is an AH or not... people will be looking for that meal they've grown accustomed to.

But when they have looked, not found the same thing and then opted for the alternative they shouldn’t be surprised it’s not what they were looking for.
going to the supermarket to get Heinz ketchup and looking in the sauce aisle, not finding it and buying own-label. You shouldn’t then get home, taste it and go “this isn’t Heinz” as you knew from the label it wasn’t.

Some people have unrealistic expectations. There are valid reasons why the parties aren't happening this year. Ignoring those reasons doesn't make them go away. There was literally no solution that would please everyone this year: Hold the parties as usual and people would complain that they were kicked out of MK before the fireworks for the 50th. Hold no party or DAH at all and people would complain that there was nothing for a 2nd year in a row and note that Universal managed to hold HHN. Hold this DAH event and people complain that it's not MNSSHP.
