I also love the immediate strategy of "They'll visit Universal for a few days and we'll get what's left."

They teach that at Wharton? I stopped reading the Harvard Business Review when they took out the centerfolds.
Where is that? I searched the docs we have so for a mention of Universal and don't see anything about their response to EU.

I just searched the released documents and searched for "heat" and "hot."

I could not find where Disney is blaming anything on "it was too hot."

Where is that claim?

It was from last year when they mentioned the extreme heat as a reason July 4th crowds were lower (they other parks in Florida mentioned it as well) and I am sure it did play some role and also easier to refer to an external factor they can't control to put a positive spin on things

Even if factual that the heat did impact things then and that hurricanes did impact things now (I meN, the parks did have to close, that doesn't help results) but also probably not the only reason

Q: WRT increasing DTC revenue plans. Also, what are you doing in regard to EU....

A: Bob: Improvements to DTC are happening now and are continuing. No password sharing, better ad, better algorithm, ESPN flagship, better design, etc...

Hugh: No change to what we said about EU previous. Signs are pointing to things growing anyway. Cruise will support the segment.

Q: Will you do skinny bundles with DTC. And with FUBO thing, what's up with that?

A: Goal is to get ESPN out there in as many ways as possible: skinny, bundled, JV, etc... Fubo is part of the skinny plan. And it makes for a better "live tv" experience. And to add more interactive parts to ESPN, e.g., gambling. Coming Fall 2025.

Q: Why is guidance predicting less revenue?

A: Hugh, it's leading us to more cost cutting. 1st quarter was better than expected, so, future quarter will look anemic in comparison. Also, macro-economics is cautionary.

Q: How will new NBA contract lead to profitability. Also, with DTC... what up with that, esp. with News.

A: Bob.. we don't look at profitability for any one contract or sport or quarter. We have it for the next 11 years.

To grow subs for DTC we are confident we're delivering good contents. Also, we have plans to make the experience better.

Hugh: we gave ESPN guidance which included that contract.

Bob: News... ABC News and local news will come more and more online... already on Hulu.

Q: Minutia of ESPN shows being on ESPN v. the bundle.

A: Bob... "Live" is attractive. And we plan to have live sports 24/7.

Q: Experiences (cruises) whats up? Also Lightning Lane, what's up?

A: Hugh: Disney Treasure doing spectacular, sold out, good GSAT. It will be profitable its 1st Quarter.

Lightning Lane: we're still in it's infancy. Light touch on tweaking it and advertising it.
