I have been reading the boards for quite awhile, and I finally joined so I could have the ability to post some replies...well I have come across a few "disgruntled" members that really just have some rude comments.

Ex: MickeyMan, for the love of all that is good ... please, please, please stop creating new threads.

Complaint: What is the point of a message board? New topics...right? There would be no "forum" if people could not create as many threads as they wanted to. I could understand if the last 5 threads were from 1 person asking the same question. Otherwise, what is the problem?

New topics are encouraged. That is how a message board evolves. We cannot all be sitting here waiting for the opening of EE, or waiting for the next picture update from one of the locals. However, asking questions like, "Has anyone ever stayed at Carribbean Beach?" or "What is your favorite...?" turns many veteran users off. Why? Because there are over 20 thousand, yes thousand registered users on this message board. No, there aren't 20,000 daily users, but with a message board this large, do you not think that there is at least someone who has stayed at the Carribbean Beach resort ? Do you not think that the "poll" of 'what is your favorite ...?' has not already been asked ?

I'll ask you this: have you ever used the Search Function ? If you do a search of (whatever) and the thread start date is last week, does it make any sense to start a new thread on that topic ? And don't forget, there is a POLL forum section as well.

Ex: please proofread your posts ! (((and later after being chewed out))) Yes, but spelling and grammar are important on a forum. A spellcheck isn't too hard to find.

Complaint: Get a life! The post this was written after was not horrible...maybe it was a teenager who wrote the post--can't everyone just be happy that the forum is popular and is being used?

ENJOY THE BOARD, :brick: if extra threads and misspelling are the things that ruin your day---I can't imagine how you act when something really goes wrong.

It would appear that most of the people on this message board do, indeed care about good spelling.

It has nothing to do with "ruining people's day(s)." It has to do with posting in a public message board so that others will be able to read your post and respond to it if they see fit. If someone has too many spelling errors, or appears to have no regard for the English language, their post will be 'passed over' and not read. You, or the person who posted may not care, but when or if the situation is reversed, and you are looking for a suggestion, have a question, or need "help," you may find that you won't get many answers because the people that do care about spelling have 'passed over' you request and will not read it.

ArielBelle, I like your hutzpah. I've been noticing the same thing, but was too scared to say anything. Angry people stress me out  . I feel especially bad for poor MickeyMan. He's new to the boards, and things could be put to him a little more gently. Also, I'm all for mockery, but doesn't picking on a user who has posted that he is 14 seem a bit uncouth?

I think being an intelligent poster is an important thing.

Posting idiotically, without thinking, is a waste of bandwith and time.

There's a search feature for a reason.

If a topic does not interest you, skip it.
If a person bothers you, put them on ignore.
If they are offensive, report them to the moderators.

Spelling and bad grammar get to me, but there is nothing I can do about it here.

We have a search feature to look up topics , some people miss it and post a duplicate thread. This is not the end of the world and I usually point them in the right direction.
