You can ask for the Visa discount, PINS are also out there as well but those are assigned to specific people. If you are asking about the Visa discount and you find you want to book the package you must pay the deposit with the Disney Visa card or the offer will not be booked for you at all.
Katie, Usually packages can cover dates even after the last date of the promotion as long as your stay started in those dates, but that as always is subject to availability. If you can be flexible with your dates, resorts or both, you stand a better shot of being able to access the promotions. Marie

Called in the am yesterday as we're staying at CBR 6/12-6/19 so we had a discounted room for 6/12-6/15 but were rack rate for 6/16-6/19.
I requested to split my stay into two linked reservations to take advantage of the new discount for the last three days of our stay.
No standard rooms available for my dates under the new discount. Only king bed rooms and pirate rooms.
I plan to call back when the general public discount is released to see if they open up more standard rooms as Disney's website shows rack rate standard rooms available for those dates.
Does anyone know if this is common practice for Disney?

The discounted rooms are not always all of what is available at that resort. Availability on all promotions is limited and does not include all resorts or room types at a specific resort. Keep checking as availability can change but would you consider changing resorts to get the discount? Marie

If I could get length of stay at POR, sure.
I'm not sure the family would be interested in changing resorts mid stay though.

I meant switching resorts for the entire stay, not just the discounted portion. Marie
Yeah, that's what I meant about the length of stay(6/12-6/19) at POR.
If we could get a discounted standard room there for our whole stay I'd jump on that.
You've got me thinking about that split stay now though, lol!
We booked a carriage ride at POR on 6/16 for our 25th wedding anniversary and it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to finish up our stay there.

Give a call and see what the options are looking like. You never know!! Also as a suggestion, check into the pricing for the Lodges, AKL and Wilderness. Both are pretty incredible resorts. It might be worth it to see what the price hop would be with the discount if it is available. Marie

Thank you Marie! Do you know if I would still be eligible if my trip extended beyond the 27th? I am going from August 24th-30th.
You will get the discount for 8/24,25, 26 and 27 and pay rack rate for the other days. As you are starting your trip during the discount period this will be one reservation priced daily. We are going 8/22-29 so I only had to pay rack rate for one night. If history is any indication another discount starting on the 28th might come out later. That would require a split reservation but as of now your ressie would NOT be split just priced daily with your first four days discounted.

Also, I'm assuming with both the Visa rates and the regular discount rates that Disney often excludes certain room levels from the offer? For example, the standard room at the Wilderness.....guessing that room might not be eligible for the discount?

Sort of. Some resorts are excluded from the discount altogether such as the Little Mermaid rooms, Port Orleans French Quarter etc ( listed on the initial posting for this discount) but other rooms may not be available on one set of dates but might be available on another set of dates, depending on availability. The best thing to do is to be as flexible as you can. If you are set with a particular set of dates, be flexible with the resorts. If you have your heart set on a particular resort, if you can, be flexible with the dates. If you can do both, that is your best chance to be able to take advantage of the discounts. As a ball park answer to your question though, the answer is yes, any room category that is selling well enough without a discount will most likely be excluded from the discount. Also don't book a room at rack rate if you are hoping to be able to switch it to a discounted room later. It CAN be done but if anything, this practice makes the chances of you getting that resort/room type harder as according to the inventory, that is one more room that has been sold and does not need to be discounted. If that happens you will either have to switch resorts or dates or both to get the discount. That happened a LOT last year when unexpectedly Riverside was excluded from the Free Dining offer. Many people who had booked there with the intent of switching over once the Free Dine offer was made were left with the choice of a different resort or stay at Riverside and pay for the dining plan if you wanted it. The only time you really need to plan like that is if you are looking for a particularly hard to get room type and/ or a busier time of year such as around Christmas, New Year's Easter, etc. At that point, discounts may not even be offered so it isn't a consideration. If they do, great!! We can work with Disney to see if we can apply them, but for times like that or harder room types, discounts may or may not happen. Hope this answers your question!! Marie
