Disappointing day at IoA

Today my BF and I got in line for the front row on Dueling Dragons probably 15 minutes before the official park closing time. And I'm sure most of you know that if you're in line for a ride at Disney before closing and you're still in that line after the official closing time, they don't make you get into another row if you've been waiting for front or whatever. Well we had been waiting for the front row and then some kid came on over the loudspeaker and told us that we had to pick another row because they were closing. We went into another row but were very angry that they did that to us. We walked to guest services as we were leaving to complain but when we got there, there were a TON of people waiting already...even outside the door.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I couldn't believe it. We wanted to go tell someone in guest services that Disney would've let us stay in the row we had already been waiting in. (Which they do every time I'm ever waiting for a specific spot on a ride right at closing.)

I just don't think it was fair to us or to a few people that were in front of us that had also been waiting.

Disney wouldn't make you get in another line because they don't have a line for the front row on any of their coasters to begin with. You sit where they tell you to sit.

Not true at all. I have requested front row on RnRC several times and been put there and Everest actually has a line to wait for front row. I've also requested front of Space Mountain cars [my long legs don't fold as well as they used too] and they'll often accommodate that as well. BTMRR will load you front or rear if they don't already have too many waiting for it [they just don't have any holding area].

While RnRC may not have an actual line for front row, the CM will have you stand off to the side and when the space is available, put you in the front row... From what I've seen.

You guys must've had a bad employee or they were tired and wanted to go home... I've done the same thing on that ride right before closing and was never told to switch rows... This is very unfortunate... If I were you guys, I wouldn't have switched... I would've said, "No, we waited for front, we're getting front." ... What'd Guest Services say?

PS. Guest Services at EVERY park, even Disney ones, are always swamped at the end of the day. I was trying to grab a birthday pin at MK last October and ended up waiting almost 20min before I decided to leave without it because they were so busy. And no it wasn't a MNSSHP night...

Everest does. :p And when we request to sit in front or in back for a ride they do stand you off to the side for that.

So that's it? I agree that it wasn't handled the best, but that one event completely ruined your day and made it all dissapointing?

Judging from Valawen's posts, she visits the parks very often like I do. Sometimes I drive over just to ride one particular ride that I am in the mood for. Maybe she went just to ride the front row on DD :)

Well not really for me, but my BF was all y afterwards...

Plus I couldn't think of a better thread title. :p:hammer:

I forgot to mention earlier that Busch Gardens actually has signs posted stating that the lines for front/back seats will close (is it 30mins?) prior to the normal closing time of the park.

I thought that if you were in the ride queue when the park closes, you can still stay in line until it is your turn to ride. The front seats may close, however, before the park closes, but I think you should be given fair warning (like a sign or an annoucement).

I've asked for the front row of RnRC and I was pointed to the front row queue. The same thing happened on California Screamin' at DCA.

Yeah everyone in the queue before park closing could ride, but everyone waiting for the front was told to choose another row after some of us had been waiting for 15, 20 minutes for that specific row. There were no signs saying they close the line for front row at a specific time or anything.

See they should place a sign saying the front row cannot be reserved 30 minutes before closing. This has to happen all the time

:brick: That why I only vist WDW parks :lookaroun

Its a good thing I'm only a few minutes away...If I had been there on vacation from somewhere really far and only got to have that day there I'd be really upset and probably would've waited in that long line at guest services.

Lol, suprise surprise. Another post by you trying to prop up Universal by bashing Disney. You could at least try and disguise your bias considering the fact you are on a Disney fansite...

Anyways, it does suck that Universal did that. I've only been there for the park's closing a few times, but I don't remember any problems with anything like that. Hopefully it's only a one time thing. I mean in the grand scheme of things it's not too big of a deal for people who are able to visit a lot, but it would suck for people who can only get there once or twice in their lifetime.

There have been posts on this forum in which people have complained that Disney cast members did not let them sit in the front or back. The cast member told them they have to sit where they are told. Sometimes you get an ______, regardless of where you are.

Yadda yadda yadda

I was only wrong about Everest, which isn't surprising seeing as I've only ridden it once. Requesting where to sit isn't the same as having a line for it. You can request where to sit on any ride. Doesn't mean the CM's will care.

Why should I disguise my bias? You certainly don't disguise your attacks on other posters.
